Would you ever bleach your skin ?

If you ever did it or at least tried why did you do it ? And what was the outcome ? How was your skin ?

I'm a light skin girl. In Jamaica they call light skin people brown. It is also said that guys in Jamaica love lighter girls cause it is the better skin color and is more attractive. Why is this ? Black is beautiful ! Color is color ! I'm very angry by this. It's sad to say but people do think this way and feel this way. Some guys don't want a girl cause she's black.

I remember oneday I was sitting under a tree with my boyfriend [ a Jamaican guy in Jamaica ] and he said to me that he has never dated a black girl before. All of his girlfriends have been brown. It really pissed me off cause I'm thinking that dosen't sound right.

What do you think about all of this ?

  1. Well am proud of my skin colour God create me so and i will stay so!

  2. I am as white as a sheet.  I would love to be more colorful.  SO, no I would not bleach my skin.

  3. My dad is dark. My mom is 'brown'. I am somewhere in the middle.

Honestly, people like your (ex)boyfriend are just too common. They are always looking for someone to 'compliment their color'. It disgusts me. People who think like that are victims of self-inflicted mental oppression.

The real truth is that there are paths to success for beautiful people (beauty in terms of looks, personality and character). This is regardless of race, complexion, and social standing.

  4. ii'm a liiqht skiin mexican

  5. Both my paerents are brown and i'm the "black" one in the family but people on the road still call me "browning" so I don't think bleaching is necessary. Your boyfriend has a nerve to be telling u about his ex-girlfriends. My boyfriend claims he only likes brown girls too but I guess it's just a matter of preference...and i do find that MOST jamaican men i've encountered prefer lighter girls, but wouldn't mind a dark girl. I do have friends who have bleached before and they turned out fine but it's a very complicated process and it certainly isn't for everyone. I personally believe that people should just be themselves. But I have no idea what it must be like for them because maybe if I was darker I'd feel different...it must be an inferiority complex or something. I sure hope that made sense.

  6. no, but michael jackson did

  7. DO NOT change who you are to make other's happy. These guys sound pretty shallow to me.

  8. Its is because of slavery- the slave master use to separate the light skin slaves from the darker skin slaves; the light skin ones will work in the house while the dark skin ones stay in the hot sun and work; as a result, the skin colour is a problem affecting many black people today.

Therefore, most dark skin black people would want to whitening their skin to be viewed as closer as to the white skin person. (closer as in skin colour) they want to fit in, in other words.

I become sickly pale after Winters in Northern cold Calif.  I was so glad to go home in January to get some colour and look a whole lot better...I am Jamaican.

*Beauty comes in all colors...Its whats inside that counts and lasts a lifetime..Beauty fades anyway.
