If you went to a restaurant for the first time and you received your food extremely late, like 15-20 minutes late, but it tasted good, would you ever come back to that place?

  1. h**l no i wouldnt go back to that damm place the food may be good but theres no point in waiting that long. i mean heck you pay the restaurant right they should give you the right service. are say your going to take your money and your appitight someware else. anyways i wouldnt go back to that place if i was you.

  2. Yes, I don't eat at fast food restaurants, 15 - 20 minutes  is a good wait for   decent, properly cooked food at a good restaurant.

  3. Since the food was good yes. I don't think 15-20 minutes is too long to wait. Was the restaurant busy? If very busy and it was dinner time sure.

Were you with other people. What kind of restaurant-fast food, casual or fine dining? There's lots of depends on where you ate and what you had?

  4. since the food was atleast good it might be worth giving them one more shot. however, if the service remains poor i would not give it a third shot.

Why go back to a place though that wasnt perfect. how many  new places are there out there waiting to be tried

  5. I would go back, if the food is really good.. I can wait :)

  6. Sounds like you're used to "fast" food.  Not all restaurants work that way, sometimes things are made from scratch and take a while.  If the food was good and warm and served courteously, I'd go back, yes.

  7. ...15 -20 minutes in a restaurant waiting for food is not that bad! If you liked the food and it was served in nice way and well presented then just have another drink while you wait... go back enjoy the ambience!

  8. Oh yeah! Things happen sometimes. I always give any new place 3 strikes in a row and your out!

  9. Was it a fancier/more expensive restaurant?  Was it extremely busy?  Honestly, 15 minutes isn't that bad if it's a good restaurant.  Did you receive good service from your server?

If everything else was good (food, atmosphere, workers, etc), I don't think you waited that long.  Give it another shot - maybe you just hit them on an off-day.

  10. Yes if the food is good I would go back. Sometimes good food takes longer to cook. If you get it too quick it might have been sitting there waiting for you to come in and order it!! Not good.

  11. It all depends on the circumstances.  Was it 15-20 minutes more than what you expected or 15-20 minutes total?  Were they courteous and did they explain the delay?  Were they very busy or did you order something that takes a long time to prepare?  They definitely deserve another chance.  There are so many variables in the restaurant business that the average person doesn't even know about.  As long as you were treated well you should surely try the restaurant again!

  12. sure

  13. Yeah sense the food was good.  Who knows maybe somthing was slowing them down the first time. Besides I belive in second chances. But if the service still stinks don't go back a third time.

  14. Well I always go to restaurants like that and see no problem.

  15. I think what he meant was that the food came 15 to 20 minutes AFTER it was supposed to. For example, if he expected the food to arrive in 15 minutes, and it came 20 minutes after that.

In any event, yes, I would go back and give it another try. Every restaurant has off nights. Also, you cannot assume that it's the server's fault. They are not the ones cooking the food. Sometimes tickets get lost, or cooks mess the original order up.

  16. Hey Dan I am a Chef in NYC and this is a common issue ! When your food comes out late it can be one of many things happening in the kitchen the expediter can be slipping (chef who calls out food orders and gives out the times in which they are to be served ) there could have been a shortage for instance a side dish or something could have run out of the prepared stock and they may have had to make more hence the long wait. But in the end the waiter or hostess should have spoken to you and explained that there is going to be a little delay apologize and make sure your dining experience was not ruined by the delay. If this did not happen even if the food was good I wouldn't go back there, people eat out for the experience and especially these days where you could be saving your money for important things like fuel you deserve better and I promise can find it .... there are a million and one restaurants out there and not expensive ones either that offer the whole package and give you what you deserve !

Bon Apetite and Good Luck next time !
