Question:

Would you ever consider running the Sahara Marathon?

It looks like a serious challenge that would be very fun and very grueling but ultimately very personally rewarding.

Basically it's a 6 day 243 km marathon through the Moroccan Sahara Desert. Looking at the length of the marathon and the time alotted, it doesn't look too bad, but considering that you're running in the desert heat, and that you're carrying everything you need to survive the six days (including backup clothing, anything needed for sleep or shelter, food and drink, and first aid kit) it starts to look like a h**l of a challenge to take up one day!

What do you think?

  1. i dont think i could carry enough water for me, i mean i go throw a about 2 20packs of bottled water a week when im runing just 50mile weeks when i dont live in a dessert, but if i  could figure out a way to carry everything i would defiantly want to give it a try in a few years  it sounds fun

  2. Right after reading this, I thought- this sounds like me!  Then I went on their website.  $5,000 entry fee!  (So it's highly unlikely that I'd do it.)
