  1. I have carried a knife since I was 7 years old. It's not about carrying a knife, it's about parenting. If you raise your child right you won't have to worry about what's in his pockets or how he will use it. All the boys I grew up with carried knives and none of us stabbed anyone . We viewed it as a tool , not a weapon.

  2. No!!!!

  3. Only if I lived in a black area, if not he would be the only kid not carrying.

  4. My 3 yr old? No, she's too little to know how to handle a knife.

But if my son is 16 and got a knife as a gift, then why not ? Knives are not always used as a weapon. My husband carries a pocket knife on himself.

You can use one to open a package, get a toy out of  those crazy packages that they come in, slice up an apple in a pinch, etc.

They are useful and are not something to be thought badly of. If you teach your child how to properly use a knife and teach them what its not to be used for, then you won't have problems.

  5. Only if he was going to a properly organized knife fight. Just cruel to send a kid to one without.

  6. it would be king of like saying good-bye maybe

    or pain-maybe

and their life has just begun

  7. Don not let your kid go out ith a knife because they will be acting in a differant manner and people in gangs that may have a knife will think that your sun is acting wierd (becasue he has a knife  acting differant than normal) and they might start a fight and in this case stab him.

just give him a word of adice ans tell him to keep you one big promiss not to go out with a knife. dont check him becuase it will make him feel like you cant trust him and make him really insacure.

if worst comes to wrost check hi room whes hes at school or at work butmake sure he doesnt find out you have done so becuase he wont think you trust him and he wont be able to trust you !!

    hope this helps !!

  8. No my kid won't get out of the house with a knife, gun, or semi-automatic weapons.

Unlike the parent in the South Side of Chicago and those parents wonder why their kids are getting kill daily there.

Parents need start to be parents.

  9. Only if I were going to walk through the ghetto at night, then I would not want a knife but a sub machine gun.

  10. Not a child no. These r not children these r young lads who r stabbing each other to death.

Parents dont know what their lads r up to all the time and nor should they.

These lads go into the world knives, guns or whatever and they will have to deal with situations or die. Its the way of the world.

  11. My mum would kill me if I ever had a knife on me..! My whole family would... but then again I have been brought up with enough sense not to own one never mind take one out with me. It's all down to the parents I think, my mum brought me up with respect for everyone, young and old. My family has never condoned violence, so I therefore see how sad it is that some people think that violence is the answer for everything.

EDIT: Those of you who have given thumbs down must be the ones who carry knifes. I suppose luckily for me I live in an area where I don't need a knife, but if I was in a area where I did need one, seeing as everyone else carried one, my mum would have me out of there in a shot!

  12. It depends if they had a valid reason for having one and what exactly it was - if they want to take a pen knife away on a camping trip I wouldn't be all that bothered.

If they came back bruised and said I'm just nipping out with this 4 inch carving knife I'd maybe think that wasn't on.

  13. no

  14. you are very naive.  how many parents dare search their teenage sons?????

  15. Not frikken way!

Its disgusting.. so sad, such a loss of innocent lives.. just like the poor guys in iraq and afganistan.. what are they even fighting for! =(

  16. what a daft question.

  17. My kid got suspended from school once for having a pocket knife and we went off on him, but he explained to us that he had it to clean the mud off his shoes and forgot about not putting it in his pants pocket and a teacher saw what looked like a pocket knife in his pocket and wanted to see it and yes he had it in his pocket but only after she asked to see it did it become known that he had it on school grounds and we explained the situation to the school and they forgave the situation and to make sure it never happened again! We live in the country where our kids run though the mud all the time and things like that happen! If my kids had to carry a knife to school for protection then it is time to leave that school district!

  18. No but many parents seem not to care, or at least don't ask, don't check. And the latest victim lived not a mile from where i live, its plain to me that its the  parents who are letting their children down initially.
