I was curious as to how many people are truly opposed to rereading books.

  1. Of course I would! I have quite a good size collection of books so I need a system to keep from forgetting things about them. When i get a new book I read it once, wait two days and read it again. That way I have all the plot lines memorized. I can remember everything about each book. That way when i want to read a certain type I can find it right away without reading the backs of all of them. Its a major time saver. I'm a serious bookworm. I've read all the Harry Potter and Twilight books at least five times. Also I love my Gossip Girl, The Secret Countess, Walk of the Spirits and Lord of the Rings. Each have been read numerous times.

  2. Yeah I reread my favorite books 3-4 times already.

  3. I am "opposed" to rereading books. I've only read one book twice in my whole life! But that book was really good.

Other books I just couldn't get myself to even though I tried.

  4. I reread most of my books. if i enjoy them i want to enjoy them over and over.

  5. I read Harry Potter 2-3 times all parts each.They r very interesting,if u haven't read them u shud try it.

  6. I do it occasionally. It does have to be a very good book and be quite awhile since I've read it.

  7. Yes, I have done it many times. There are at least a dozen books (maybe more, I'd have to think about it a while) that I've read more than twice.

  8. Opposed to re-reading a book?

    I highly recommend re-reading books.

I have re-read dozens and dozens of books in my life: MOBY d**k (5 times); WATERSHIP DOWN (3 times); THE HOBBIT and THE LORD OF THE RINGS (2 times); and the list goes on and on ........................

I've re-read all the books I've read in grade school, and all the books I've read in History graduate school in college.

I've gotten more out of a re-read than the initial read, particularly the deep and tightly written tomes assigned from college.

Some people have re-read a single book over and over during the course of their lives because they were so awe-struck.

So it is not a bad thing to re-read a classic.

  9. i reread books sometimes, but the only problem is that you can't read it for the first time a second time so it's never the same and not quite as enjoyable unless you forgot the whole story line.....

  10. i try but either i dont finish or i start another one and forget i was rereading the other one.

  11. i usualy dont reread books because there are soo many good books out there! why would you waste time reading one that you've alread read? i will reread my favorite chapter when im bored though

  12. I have a few but not all of them.  I usually buy the audio version of the ones I like most so I can listen to them in between my reading.

The Stand by Stephen King is the one I have read the most times. Nearly every year since it came out and on my 3rd copy!

  13. yes but i usually skip parts that are boring lol its ok tho not a big deal wen i have nothin else to do

  14. I do it all the time, your reaction to a books is different as time goes by. I could reread a book I had considered not really worth the pain the first time and find it wonderful, but the opposite is also true. fact is there are not so many books worth reading around, so rereading may be wise.

  15. i do, i agree totally with you!

  16. It depends on if I really like the book. But yes I would. I have reread a few books and every time I reread it I think I see something I missed. Like when you watch a movie more than once you see little details in the movie which you hadn't noticed before. I personally love reading.

  17. i reread the Twilight series 2 times and a few of the Harry Potter books 2 times too. i think it depends on how good the book is and if it can hold your attention long enough for u to read again.

  18. I have reread Catcher in the Rye close to 30 times now.

  19. This happens to me a lot, despite how much I love it I just can't seem to read it again, because I don't get the same feeling, but there are a few I re-read,  yet there was one book series I find myself reading again and again, and it inspired my interest in Bangsian fantasy, it's calle d To Your Scattered Bodies Go, and it's the first book in the Riverworld Saga by Philip Jose Farmer. It has a diverse cast of characters involving Sir Richard Francis Burton, and nearly everyone who ever lived in it, discussing an afterlife never thought of before.

  20. Sometimes I might want to read a book again, but when I start, I can remember everything that is going to happen... So, I put it down...

  21. yea ive read Harry Potter series 200000000000000000000000000000000000000 times ^_^

  22. i try but i can never actually finsh.
