  1. I would never recommend walking off of a job.  When you walk off the job, you leave your professionalism at that door as well.  I have only been tempted once to walk off the job, however, morals kept me there until I finally gave my two week notice.  Remember too, that your job is your largest investment you have in life.  Without a job, no matter how unhappy you may be for the moment, you no longer have income security.  And in this economy, sometimes sticking it out until you find another opportunity, is the smartest thing to do.  If you're not satisfied with your job, start looking for other options, and give your notice in advance before you leave.  Believe it or not, you'll feel better about it in the long run.

  2. I have walked out of two jobs for very good reasons.  Life is too short to be miserable. One job was retail.  The store manager had a habit of taking cash from the register.  The district manager found out about the register shortages and the store manager tried to put the blame on the employees. One evening the district manager wanted to talk to the employees about the shortages. He started the meeting with so much attitude everyone thought they were going to lose their jobs until I stood up and told the district manager the reason for the shortages and that the attitude needs to be directed to the store manager not the employees.  The next morning when my check arrived. I picked it up and when out for Lunch for the rest of the afternoon.  The second job was a position with a law firm that wanted me to run the front desk without a lunch or bathroom break.  That did not work for too long.

If you are going to walk out make sure you have something else lined up so that you are not scrambling to find something else.

    Good Luck

  3. I already have.... well, kinda. I left my job as a receptionist for a job that turned out to be a nightmare. When I found the ad for the job, they described it as an administrative assistant position. I thought - I'm going to apply since that's one step up! Well, I was stuck doing absolutely nothing all day for 3 months. At my 3rd month mark, I gave my supervisor my resignation letter and left a week later with nothing lined up and no time to train the new hire. I wanted to warn her so she knew what she was getting into but I wasn't able to. :(

  4. Not the one I have now.  However if I were to see something unethical, cruel, or seriously illegal, I would as life is just too short.  Plus I can always find another job even if it's not in my field.
