  1. No way.  I wouldn't want that job.  You're on call 24/7 for 4-8 years.  You're a (potential) assassination target.  You're watched so closely by the Secret Service that you can't even go to the bathroom by yourself (in the White House, they have someone observe through a special peephole), and that lack of privacy never goes away since you have Secret Service protection for the rest of your life.  Plus, you have to make some difficult, gut-wrenching decisions where people sometimes lose lives--and you have to live with those decisions on your conscience the rest of your life.

No thanks.  I'm happy as a private citizen.

  2. why is this in the cruise travel section?

besides, no....i'd NEVER want to be president.  i would never be able to handle such a responsibility.

  3. Nope - you can almost watch each president age from one day to the next.  Can you imagine that kind of stress?  You get little credit for anything you do right and you get all the blame for everything that goes wrong in the country.  You have to be knowledgeable about every politic topic in the country, every political situation across the globe, try and make decisions where everyone on the planet will play Monday Morning Quarterback and criticize your every move.  No thanks, they really don't pay enough.

  4. No thank you - that is one occupation that I would have to pass on. Imagine the amount of pressure and stress you have to deal with. Or the number of people you have to deal with on a daily basis. The decisions that affect millions upon millions of people. The resistance you have to deal with when people do not agree with your decisions.

Of course it is like many other occupations. However, you magnify it 100x (or more).
