Sunlight is much more intense in tropical parts of the Earth than it is father North and South. Would you expect the water cycle to distribute energy from the tropics towards the North and South poles, or from the poles toward the tropic?

  1. water distributes heat with currents that are known...fot examplr in the north east of america the warm  ocean currents travel up the coast from florida towards maine then up to the arctic and back around to england from there by then they are much colder obviously. but the pacific current off california goes down the coast. There for the ocean temp in california  the pacific ocean is a bit colder than the atlantic during the summer months.

    it's very very complicated, but there are maps of ocean currents that you can look up.


  2. Between the poles and the tropics you have the jet stream. It is this type of force that delivers the fresh water through the water cycle. The poles are dry, get very little new snow. If you want to know more go to Coolingearth.org and read about pole climatology.
