Ok, I am going to make a few guesses with this question.

First of all you asked about Ross in another question, and I am aware that at least one trauma program ran by the Ross Institute has (or has in the past--they have remodeled since I was there) s*x addicts on the same unit as the trauma survivors.

The thing that needs to be pointed out, if I am interpreting this right, is that these are individuals with a s*x addiction.  They are not convicted s*x offenders.

Honestly, being on a mixed unit did bug me.  I can say it was well monitored.  Staff is always around keeping an eye on you, and the men are not allowed in the woman's hall and vice versa.  There was a mixed process group--trauma and SA--but there was another one just for trauma.  You could choose the group.  

Ultimately, I felt safer than I thought I would, but the thing that kept me there was knowing I needed to work on my own stuff.

I've never heard of a private hospital,only private rooms.

Every hospital treats "mixed populations" and "s*x offenders"

No I would not be uncomfortable,not in that way,I'm sure my discomfort would be coming more from my sickness/disease and if I were in the hospital I would probably be too sick to be concerning myself about 'mixed populations' and such.

Your question about s*x offenders bothers me in that I wish there were a level on these so called offenders because some of these people that are carrying around these labels are 17,18,19 year old guys that had consensual s*x with their underage girlfriends.Morally and legally wrong yes,but they are labled the same way that a serious s*x offender is who actually raped a person

I don't even know what you mean by mixed population,but if you mean race....no I would not be uncomfortable.This world is what it is because we are all SUPPOSED to be different.I love it.

I would be if it were my son or daughter unless there was good security and the s*x offenders were segregated. I honestly don't believe that there is any treatment for the hardcore perverts out there, and wouldn't trust them.

I would not feel uncomfortable if I felt the level of security was sufficient to ensure my safety.

But I expect a lot of people would be disturbed by this.
