I was at the bar about 5 years ago and this guy started talking sh it to me. I said OK Man, and walked away. The situation cooled down a bit for a few minutes and I thought it was over. BUT, a hour had passed and every time I ordered a beer I would glance over and he was staring at me like he wanted to kill me. So finally I couldn't take it anymore, so I said WTF are you looking at. And he, of course, said you MF... So... to make a long story short I whipped his *** all over the bar, even though I knew he was no match for me. I still feel bad to this day. As an ex US Army Sgt. I always walk away when I know that the guy in front of me is beat. Why did I lose control on this night and pummel this fuc k. I feel so bad.

  1. If for some reason I absolutely had to but whats the point, theres no challenge.

my one rule is never throw the first punch, but after that it's open season.

  2. Words are an irritant that I can easily shrug off.

I've walked away from many hostile encounters with people calling me "p*ssy". Who cares? I sleep just fine at night.

When the verbal attacks turn into physical assaults I do not back off.

As another answerer said... "open season" is declared on someone who wants to physically injure me.

  3. emotions are powerful and hard to control sometimes-despite being disciplined individuals.  Your killer instinct kicked in and took over rational thinking.  It happens..

  4. there will always be a bit of guilt in that situation but if someone insults you or offends your honor you should do something about it but if you know the guy is no match i would make fun of him or laugh it off untill he actually makes physical contact then pummel him or just give him one good hit to knock him on his *** to teach him a lesson but i wouldn't beat the c**p out of someone who was no match, i would just do enough to make a statement and make him go home feeling like a fool so i would not feel guilty for taking him out for insulting you but i would feel guilty if you hit him more than you had to that means you couldn't control your emotions and if your trained thats a big no no

  5. ego

  6. I agree, ego is a major thing in it.  Its not always good thinking that you can.  Never know when someone mite be stronger then you really are.
