  1. Good luck!

  2. Ummmm.. Yes.

  3. Thanks for offering opinions that are clearly based on no practical experience grappling.

  4. I would simply neck roll my opponent in a street situation.  The neck roll is a very dangerous jujitsu counter to the mount and I'm not talking sport jujitsu here either.  If the neck roll were applied quickly enough and your opponent fought against you he'd be very sorry that he ever tried that. ( I will not give the specifics of the technique in here )

It's the easiest technique in self-defense jujitsu to apply when defending your self in bottom mount on the streets.  I would not suggest this technique if it's not a dire situation however.  Especially since bobbing and weaving from side to side on the small of your back would do just fine to avoid strikes.  In self-defense jujitsu getting that hand into the ribs, locking one side leg and locking the opponenet's arm ( on same side ) under your arm pit and rolling should do just fine as well.

Another counter to the mount I like a lot is BJJ's "Brabo" choke because the choking area is shrunken down and I've often thought that hip tossing some one from the standing position with the Brabo choke would either snap their neck or majorly strain the muscles in their neck as well as their shoulders and upper back one of the two.

As far as a heel hook goes though that's a far stretch man.....wow....from bottom mount huh?.....hhhmmmmm...... you don't say........

  5. The key is to buck him off of you then work from there

  6. Yeah, it's very unlikely that you'd manage a heel hook. Its even more unlikely than reversing somebody who's mounted you via bear hug -- and believe me, stopping that is incredibly simple for anybody who's got arms.

  7. i would keep on weaving until one of their punches is way off(like hits the floor way off) then i would bear hug their stomach and roll over to get in a mount and beat their face in.

and can you tell me how you would get a heel hook in because that would be really hard.

ok i was confused at how you would get a heel hook in

  8. Depends on who is mounting me..

N00b= Simple escape, trap the post arm upa (bridge and roll).

Someone who knows what they are doing= a wide variety of techniques.

I would HIGHLY suggest getting out of the position instead of attempting a submission. First off, you won't have the leverage to properly apply the submission, second off you will absorb a whole lot more strikes trying for a low percentage submission.

Good sound techniques and escapes will do you far better than attempting any kind of gimmick.

Pushing some over and off to the side is a lot harder than you think, depending on who is mounting you.

Also a heel hook will not end a fight quite the way you think it will, and you are more likely to get kicked in the face for trying, and getting kicked in the face is not fun. (Heel hook is cool for competetions that have rules preventing the other person from heel smashing you in the teeth, not so good on the street.

You are far better off getting a dominant position, and either beating the guy out, or choking him out. In real life you REALLY don't want to go for submission before position, position is much more important when trying to protect yourself.

So my suggestion when mounted (street, ring, backyard)

    1. Control your opponent (prevent those arms from punching you)

    2. Escape (while still protecting yourself) ideally an escape in which you end up in a dominant position. But getting out is important, you can scramble for position once you have gotten out.

    3. Position before submission, far better to have control of a guy (and his appendages) then to try some high risk submission. (many guys will fight with broken arms, not everyone will drop due to a knee injury, adrenaline can help someone tough it out and until you have really shredded someone's knees with a heel hook, you don't really know the extent you have to go in order to really damage the knee). Especially going for submissions in which are great when there are rules, not great when there are none. (Heel hooks is a great example, most rule sets won't allow the grounded opponent to kick the other grounded person in the face.. no such rules apply elsewhere).

    Just my opinion
