Would you find it weird if someone you know all of a sudden started dressing preppy?

Recently, I've noticed that most of the clothes that I bought at the beginning of summer are incredibly preppy. By preppy, I don't mean there's a lot of Hollister or Abercrombie (I actually don't have any clothes from those stores), but I have a lot of polos, etc. Pretty much, every day looks like I'm going to go golfing or to a country club. Would you find it weird if someone just started dressing like that come the new school year, if the person before used to just wear jeans and college sweaters? Note that pretty much nobody in my school dresses really preppy (we're a really liberal school). Will I stand out? Is that a bad thing? I'm a junior btw.

  1. who cares how you dress?  high school was so funny like that I'm so glad I don't have to deal with being judged all of the time (at least to my face I'm sure plenty of people hate me for one reason or another)

I think girls are cute in polos, dresses, gothic stuff, skirts, big sunglasses, and in volleyball uniforms.  I'll fall for you no matter what you're wearing so I say let it fly and rock the clothes you want to rock.

  2. Honestly nobody REALLY pays attention to what you wear, they may dwell on it for a second in their head, but otherwise they don't care.

You really don't have to worry about it especially if you are in a liberal school, but I like Polos, I think they are fine. If you want to stay "preppy" then you should gently ease the preppy clothes into last years wardrobe.

  3. No, people's styles change. I think it is a good thing to stand out. Especially if it's for dressing better than everyone else. :)
