When you child passes his or her driving test, it opens a whole new world of freedom for them but with driving a car comes responsibility. Teenage drivers are the cause of the most road accidents and are 3 times as likely to crash a car, usually due to carelessness or speeding/racing. Now a Canadian company has invented a black box so parents can monitor your child's driving habits and will inform them if they have been speeding or driving recklessly but would you fit one or is it a breach of trust?

1)Yes! This is just a precaution and will bring us peace of mind. It's not because we don't trust our child...?

2)No, Trust is very important and if my child says he/she is being responsible behind the wheel I will believe them...?

3)Maybe...They never need to know.... ?

  1. yes they never need to know

  2. Very simple "Yes" and you should..........

  3. I would do this in a heartbeat.  I think it should be mandatory.  I wouldn't have blamed my parents a bit if they had done this when I was a teen.  If it could help save a couple lives or even prevent a few fender-benders, then it's a good thing.  I say install it and tell them it's been installed.  I can't imagine why they would think it was a bad thing unless they've something to hide.  If nothing gets reported, wonderful, you know you have a responsible driver on your hands and be sure to tell them you're proud.  If something does get reported, good!  You know your teen needs to work on some skills or give up the keys for awhile.  It's just like getting their report cards from school.  How can this be a bad thing?

  4. sure... and what most people think that a driving class at school they learn how to drive no way...  it take a lot longer to learn the ways of the road..... i started driving years before it was time to get mine by the time i was old enough to get them i had done brought and sold 4 or 5 car or trucks i had my lic a year before driver ed.... parents should teach their kids how to drive... and they should not drive alone or without one of them in the car for like a year before being let go and that should be like a quick trip to the store and back no out on the town or out with the friends on Saturday nite... thats why there is so many they dont know how and they have not drove enough be out like they are....... driving 40 yrs brunch of mishaps a couple of wreaks done my fault you the parent should teach driving habits

  5. I absolutely would do it in a minute. You could save your child's life. They don't need to know you installed it, actually and then you could address driving issues as you see them. If there is proof that they are reckless, I'd whip out the box and show it to them. Does it break trust, yes. Did they break your trust by driving recklessly, yes. Who is the parent?

  6. first say if you would have liked this when you started to drive. I trust my children to do the right thing.
