  1. i dont fancy someone sitting on top of me!

    so no.

  2. The seats FLY as well as looking cool?  Well, maybe if they put them in some sort of aircraft, sure, I'd fly in them.

  3. In case of emergency evacuation situation, people from the "upper" deck are not in direct contact with the aisle floor, and the access to the emeregency exit door is also compromized by the stagerring of the seat (those doors have to be pulled in before being pushed out). While this could be "fixed" by removing the second, upper layer around emergency doors, it still does not address a few more points: where are the overhead luggage compartments?  Where is the "under the seat in front of you" space gone?  Since many passenger insist on bringing as much as they can in the cabin (instead of checking luggage to the cargo hold) the chance this design would be accepted by the casual passenger is zero. The chance of it being accepted by certification authorities is also zero.

Nice try, but it won't fly.

I'd also wonder what would happen if someone missed a step -- or got tangled in a step going by in the aisle -- and fell and hurt themselves, and suing the airlne, the aircraft maker and the seat designer over what may look cool, but is utterly impractical in view of above listed issues. Also, looking at the pictures, I cannot see how someone could get to the seat further from the aisle: the arrangement does not allow someone to stand up straight in the space provided as far as I can tell, and going into or coming off the window seat would be an ordeal requiring athletic capabilities plus the total collaboration of the person in the aisle seat.

  4. YES
