  1. Heck yeah! I always thought that'd be awesome! :D

  2. Guys who work at the stadiums are really too busy to watch the games.  If you spend your time on the game and not selling peanuts, how long will your boss put up with that/

  3. h**l yes i love Yankees Baseball and for free the better

  4. Yes but nothing like selling beer or soda or even hot dogs....thats hard work!

  5. I wouldn't say that selling beer, hot dogs or peanuts is a crappy job.  It's hard work.  My friend used to sell beer at RFK Stadium when the Redskins played there & he made good money but I couldn't do it, but I wouldn' mind being an usher at a baseball park cause this way you can actually see the majority of the game while the vendors are always running up & down the stairs

  6. Heck yes. If they have a club section where the waiters bring the food to your seat, that's the best job. You get to see more of the game and you make good tips.

  7. Haha...I was just thinking the same thing.

Who cares if I'm not making any money.  I spend all my money on Brewers tickets anyway...

  8. Absolutely. I'd even take a job at another city's stadium if it meant being able to see the games.

Problem is, most of the people doing those jobs don't get to see the game - they have their back turned facing the fans the whole time. Maybe 'usher' or luxury suite host would be ok.

  9. DEFINITELY! I wouldn't care. It would be so great to be there live every home game. I would do it. It's cool because, first you're getting paid to just go around and sell something, and then you get to watch a free baseball game! That would so cool! Maybe I should try getting a job at my stadium. lol. Good Question. Here's a star! =]

  10. Being a vendor is NOT a crappy job.  I worked at several different stadiums/arenas selling beer, peanuts, whatever.  You make commission plus tips and I've walked out of Bucs football games with an extra $350 for my 3 hours of hard work and it is hard work -- LOTS of steps.  On a good night for a baseball game,  $150- $200 selling beer.  And you don't really see the game. But just being ther, in that atmosphere, is electric.  I wouldn't have done it for so long if I han't been having fun and making a serious dollar. If you like people, &  work hard it's a great gig. Although some stadiums are union shops and you might have to start selling something crappy.  If you just want a little extra money ( like minimum wage or a little more) and be able to see the game, be an usher or security guard.

If you want to know more about vending, e-mail me.  I've never worked in Arlington.

  11. As soon as I'm old enough I'll be at one of their job fairs... =)

Hey, it's free baseball.  Why wouldn't I want a job there, even if I AM selling peanuts and beer? lol

  12. I wouldn't mind doing it as long as I'm not the one having to walk around the stadium all day carrying the Hot Dogs or Beer lol!

  13. I read an article in TSN a couple of months ago that detailed the "dirty" jobs in sports, like the guys who clean the dugouts or do the laundry. One of the interviews was with a beer vendor at Wrigley Field. He said that he took the job because, like you, he figured there'd be plenty of time to watch baseball but the reality is that if you spend time watching the game who aren't selling your product, which means you aren't making money. And if you're hired to sell beer or peanuts and you don't, odds are you aren't going to keep your job long. The vendor estimated he actually watched a couple innings a game and when you consider that you spend the entire game on your feet, walking up and down the aisles and back and forth to the concourse for more product, I don't think it's worth it.

About the only job that would be worth it would be as a ballboy/girl or official scorer. Otherwise, the "free" baseball really isn't free.

  14. yes!  especially if you are one who walks up and down the stairs selling beer.  They stop selling alcohol at miller park at the 7th inning so from there on out you'd be able to watch the rest of the game, which is usually the best part of the game!

  15. I went on a date with a girl that worked at Comerica Park here in Detroit, and she used to work at the snack stand. I always joked with her that I wanted to marry her. Maybe she didn't understand my love for the game. Maybe thats why I'm not with her anymore. LOL.

  16. I'd love to work at Dodger Stadium if it meant seeing the Dodgers play every day. That would be awesome.

  17. h**l Yeah! I would have killed to be the peanut guy or cotton candy dude at Dodger Stadium when I was in your shoes many years ago. It would have made for a lot of great memories. It think it was 1988! Go for it! How can it suck?

  18. I probably would, unless there were weird requirements of me that came up in an interview or something.

  19. yeah for sure i would love to work at dodgers stadium

  20. No. I don't get food:P And you get paid minimum wage too. It'd be hard to live off that.
