Would you get in trouble for taking alcohol in your suitcase?

say i put some vodka in my suitcase (NOT my hand luggage) would i get in trouble for that, or are you aloud to put a bottle of alcohol in there? do they check those bags?

  2. i packed french wine in my suit case, went through 3 countries, and it wasn't an issue, i'm not sure they care too much. One of my friends actually carried meat inside of a sealed package with out reporting it and got by, probably not the best idea though. My advice is to bubble wrap or protect it somehow and relax. And if you do lose it through customs, which is a joke not matter what country your in, you can always by it at a duty free shop in the airport.

As long as you're 21 in the US you can put alcohol in your checked luggage.  If you're going through customs, they might check and you'll have to declare it but you can still carry it.  I think there's usually a limit of 2L per person, but that might depend on the airline and country.  If you're just flying within the US, they won't check.  Just make sure it's well insulated and wrapped in plastic (a couple of grocery bags works) just in case it breaks during the flight.
