    When I was 7 I accepted a ride from my next door neighbor (he had daughters I played with)......when I got home, my mom tore a strip off me.  I will never forget how awful I felt and promise to never accept a ride from anyone but family (now I"m older it's different) and never to pick up strangers when I learned to drive.

  16. NEVER.  And beware of giving rides, or accepting rides from anyone who you don't know very well.  There are psychos out there. It is better to be inconvenienced than dead
