I am a dual citizen of the USA & Taiwan, but my love is France, my dream in life is to live in Paris, the most beautiful city in the world. I am currently learning French, and more than anything in the world I want to move to France. It would be a miracle if I could attend a French university, but I do not even know where to begin ! Would any of you good people be so kind as to give some advice on moving to France ? French people are so kind, refined, polite, cultured, so unlike most rude unrefined Americans ! I really love art, philosophy, culture etc.. The only thing better than living in France is living in France with a French girlfriend !!!

  1. I don't know a ton about France, but I do know that the University of Paris (La Sorbonne), is considered one of the premier Universities in the world.  It is also one of the oldest, since it was founded in 1257.

Apparently France has recently cracked down on immigration, as President Sarkozy says it is an attempt to target immigration to those who are skilled and can fill labor gaps.  However, it remains to be seen how this will affect immigration from the U.S.

The best thing you could probably do is contact the French Embassy in the U.S.  I put their website in the sources.  After deciding to immigrate, you would have to contact one of the French Consulates, which is essentially the French government in the U.S.  They are in charge of visas, passports, and immigration in general I think.

I also put the website for La Sorbonne in there, but since my French is a bit rusty, I had trouble understanding too much information about it, other than the fact that it is huge.  Something like 13 colleges all brought together under one name.

    Hope this helps.

  2. Hi. First of all, I am French. but not taht polite or refined nor cultured. This is kind of dream picture. We can also be very rude and stupid and not nice at all with strangers in France. Be very carefull with this because if you come here, you might be very disappointed.

Well, I love my country and I love talking about it (with foreigners that I also like to see coming here or living here as well). If you want to study, you must directly see the universities. what kind of studies do you make in the USA ?

And even if you are a dual citizen, my advice is : come with your us-passeport, we will consider you as an american and it will be much easier for you.
