Would you give money to the Burma apeal?

their gov't could've just warned the people and much of this would have been avoided.

Ofcourse (already have). I give through CARE International. UNICEF and MercyCorps are also reputable organizations.

The people of Burma should not be punished for having a militant government they would happily be rid of if they could. The quick action of rich countries after the massive tsunami a few years ago prevented an awful situation from getting even worse. In addition, this could help open the country up. To stand by and not try to help would be a crime.

No they wont let us in to make sure its distributed fairly.   I wonder what theve got to hide.

Would they give it to us?  Have they ever given any aid to anybody?  Sod them, they want to be independant so lets not waste any more of my money

Yes, the people of Burma need help and I would contribute to a reputable help organisation which does not line corrupt pockets with aid money. Some Indonesian officials got rich by pocketing the tsunami relief. We can not repeat that in Burma.

I have no control on Bush's decisions... even if I don't agree with him, he will do as he pleases.

So the people in Burma are in the same boat.  They don't necessarily agree with their government's policies.  They should not be punished (further) because we do not believe in their gov. policies.  Each country should be run as they please but we should ALL help each other in times of crisis.

Like Mexico sent lots of fruit when the Catrina crisis in New Orleans.  Brazil also sent food.  These are not very rich countries but they helped ours that is so abundant.  We should all help each other out in my opinion.
