Would you go on vacation alone?

My mom bailed, my friends are broke, I'm a dedicated single gal. But I've been looking forward to going to Schlitterbahn in TX for YEARS! I love water parks and sadly, I live in MN where they SUCK because our weather does, too. Schlitterbahn is the best water park in the world and that's the only thing I want to do. This trimester has been so demanding & difficult. All I do is study, work out, & work. If I don't have Schlitterbahn to look forward to in Aug, the will to go on just won't be there. But I'm afraid that it won't really be fun all alone. Waiting in line forever with nobody to talk to, riding alone, etc. Plus, can I feel safe traveling alone? Anyone out there ever do stuff like this alone? Would you if you were in my aquasox?

Dude... GO!!!

If water parks are your idea of fun... then GO! Plus you get to go where you want, do what you want, you don't have to take anyone elses needs into consideration.

Standing in line with no one to talk to. Guess what... you're in a LINE.... of people... strike up a conversation with the people also waiting in line around you.

I have been to parks alone before and what you're forgetting is that MOST people go in pairs, but NOT EVERYONE and you know what that translated to for me? I got to go ahead of a bunch of people in pairs on rides, because they needed a "seat filler" and not many people wanted to be separated from thier groups.

There's ALWAYS an advantage and a silver lining, if you look for it!

GO!! have fun enjoy.  The most adventurous trip i have had in my life was when I decided to cross the proverbial to the UK alone.  I spent 2 weeks plus in Scotland best trip of my life. Many thought i was nuts for going alone.  I never gave it a thought as I did my best not to look like a tourist and I acted as who i am confident independant female ( that deters many unwanted interactions).  Y There are many website that can give you ideas on how to be safe when traveling alone.

I always travel alone.  I wouldn't have it any other way.  It's a great experience.

Going alone is a good idea in theory. But in practice, you'll feel awkward and out of place. Can you imagine yourself sitting at a restaurant alone?

People are kind of wierd about this subject. Would you go to a movie alone or out to eat. A lot of folks are uncomfortable doing this. I am not. I love to go on vacation alone or out to eat or to the movies. Sometimes it is nice to be with yourself. Get inside your head and think. Vacations are great alone sometimes. You can do whatever you wish, on your time schedule and I have met some of my dearest friends while alone on vacation. I think you will be surprised at what you learn about yourself in these situations and getting to know and like yourself is important. I think you should give it a try. Make a really nice journal or photo album to remember it, it will be great times.

I used to think going on vacation, movies, or a restaurant alone would be awkward.  Finally, I did it.  I have to admit that I felt uncomfortable at first.  Then I realized that nobody around me thought anything of it, so why should I.  Now, I have no problem with it.  I think it is a matter of self confidence.
