For example, if there was a coffee shop open on a Monday night, would you go? Especially if they have free internet and nice cakes.

  1. I would definitely go!  Coffee, cake, and a good book are a cozy way to spend the evening.

  2. not unless there was alcohol in the coffee eg an irish coffe

  3. Definitely, anytime... not just on a Monday night. Beats sitting at home wondering when the world will come to you...

  4. Prefer a sinful hot choc!!! But I think there should be more alcohol free places to go - as some of us do have to drive!!!! It's good to talk too!!!

  5. Yep, I love coffee in the evening.

  6. Definitely... although I may opt for a decaf.

  7. Yes. I think it sounds good. I'd be good to meet friends or even a date.  Have fun!

  8. Most certainly I would.

I don't go out to get pie eyed,  I go out to enjoy the company of my friends.  I think I could do that better on coffee than alcohol.

  9. YES!!!

  10. Yep definately. Alcohol can wait for the weekend, and special occasions.

Although I'd rather have a cuppa tea (:

  11. No way.

  12. Going out for a coffee in the evening or any other time is something I have done for many years.

  13. No....if I have coffeee at night it keeps me awake....and I don't eat cakes!!

  14. Yes I like to go to my local Costa's, sit outside and watch the world go by.

  15. Not sure... probably not.

I'm a big fan of coffee shops, but if I drank coffee in the evenings I'd never be able to get to sleep. And although I don't drink much alcohol, when I do go out in the evenings I prefer a glass of wine or a beer, just to help me chill out.

  16. As teens we grew up on Espresso Coffee Bars in Bristol, and if there were any around where I live now, it might be fun and a trip down memory lane.

They didn't serve cakes (nor have internet, of course), but you could get a good cheap poached egg on toast or push the boat out and have a half-portion spag bol for 3 shillings and 9 pence!  That was 32.5 pence for two!!

  17. Iam thinking more of going to a posh restaurant for a meal  they expect folk to have alcohol but not me I ask for a coffee,if I get a dirty look I say sorry forget that coffee and you forget your tip

  18. Definitely!

We're one of the countries who believes that the idea of going out is to drink alcohol.  Many other nations go out to socialise, and that's what I prefer.

I love a nice drink, but would just as happily go for a coffee (or better still, a hot chocolate) if my friends were there.  The cakes would be nice but not essential.

To be honest, if I were there with friends, I wouldn't want the internet, free or no.  I'd simply want to chat.  I've got the net at home, on demand when I want it, but my friends are special and not with my all the time.  I want to make the most of being with them.

  19. no way how sad

  20. ohhh i so would go to starbucks and get a vanilla cream frappichino with wipped cram and a chocolate chip cookie, sit and surf the web, or read a nice book,

then mayb the next night have some of the old alcohol
