I asked this because I honestly feel more welcomed at a white church than at an all black church.

  1. No. Black Christians are stuck-up and s****.. And how can I see the preacher if some old lady's big hat is in my way?

  2. Yes, It doesn't matter, I've been around whites my whole life so, I'm used to it. I feel more comfortable at a white church because I am used to them, but I happen to go to a mostly black church because that is where my family is. All churches are equal, that is the reason God made different cultures, so we can praise him in different ways!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. actually i have, my ex took me to a number of black pentecostal churches and i went because she took me, aside from needing to get used to the whole randomly falling and wailing on the floor bit i was never uncomfortable, actually in many ways i enjoyed it more, i found the in black churches they like to argue more and i've always enjoyed a good argument, to say nothing for the fact that i also didn't feel like i was attending the sunday morning fashion show like i did with so many other white churches

heh i'll tell ya two pennies when i saw my first one drop i wanted to run and scream for an ambulance, it's all nice calm orderly and when the service starts "welcome to the twilight zone"

  4. i go to church to praise god, not to worry about if I'm the only black person in there.

as long as their not preaching about hate along with preaching about god, I'm good

  5. As long as the majority aren't black I'm all game.

On another note, I don't believe in god so I wouldn't be in church anyways.

  6. well i'm white and i still don't feel comfortable in the church i've been going to for a couple years now, which is  mostly white. i don't know about going to a church that was mostly black though only because of how energized they are...i don't see it as a problem, but i just don't like moving around that much. i'm more laid back, obviously. i guess it doesn't matter what the race just about how the people act.

  7. Yes, because I am going to worship and I don't care about who else is going to be in attendance

  8. i dont go to church because most churchgoers are hypocrites. i often feel ashamed to be seen anywhere near a church.

  9. Yes i went to church thar was mostly and had no problem with it

  10. i am muslim and the masque that i go to is filled with mostly arabs...

i still go.. although im pretty sure im talked about, i dont care we are SUPPOSED to go to church to worship god.

I could care less about what they think of my skin tone

  11. I did when I was forced to a catholic church old white people I dont see whats wrong well then again its hardly racist over here but I was laughing at Jesus on the cross I thought he was a man who was crying because he couldnt find his clothes looool I was 5 and even then I knew it was a bunch of c**p.

  12. It is easy to feel comfortable around people of your race because they share your customs and culture.  So, if I was going to church to be social, I'd try to find people of the same ethnic group.  But, since church is supposed to be about worshipping and focusing on God, it doesn't matter what race the majority of the people in the church are.

  13. well......sad to say but it would feel kinda weird

i personally prefer churches where more of the people look like me or share my views on things, but im open to others.

  14. nope.   Im no holy roller.  The only thing I like about church is the music and white church music is boring (I am speaking as a musician who has played in plenty of white churchs).  Also I dont find the preachers at white churches as entertaining.

@Jay - yeah dude,  pentecostal churches are off the chain.

  15. Well, I don't go to Church anyway. If I did I wouldn't care because race doesn't matter.

  16. If that Church discussed anything about race, I wouldn't go to it.

Christianity was supposed to be universal. Seems like Earthlings messed it up like usual.

  17. absolutely,

i'm half mexican and half white,  and I'm southern baptist and when i was younger i went to a predominantly black church, i find those were the most upbeat and loud, and i loved it. Everyone has their way of praising  i guess. But when it really comes down to it race plays no hand in the cards of god.

  18. Growing up in italy i always went to catholic churches and one of the things i learnt early on was that most of the racist people i knew were fervent believers and church goers. They would smile at you in church and call you "brother" but then once the service was over they would give you dirty looks and walk the other way.I came to America and i saw the same thing in other denominations especially in the south. They would all be nice and full of smiles yet you could see the unieasiness anytime an interracial couple walked by. They would all talk about equality and how God loves everyone yet in the same breath they would refer to black people as "those people" or "them"......after these experiences i realized that even in the church people tend to carry their prejudice and misguided beliefs. I go to a multiracial church every now and then however if I was given the choice between a mostly white church and a black one (provided they shared the same beliefs) I would probably go to a black one simply because i do not want to deal with hipocrisy.

  19. I'd go to a Black Gospel church if they where singing and dancing and having a good time.  White churches seem to be stuffy and boring.

  20. Yeah, because those people are together in order to love God... Not to check who is whiter than the other.

  21. I like going to both churches and like them both equal god does not mind where you go

  22. I would but I don't think I'd be welcome. My mom and I went to an all black church one and after everyone glared at us (the preacher actually stopped preaching and stared with them), we didn't feel very welcome. It's a horrible feeling and I wouldn't like to expierence it again. Besides any church that does that, isn't a real church anyway. But in my expierence, white churches are more open. My aunt went to a Catholic church in South Carolina (the supposedly predjuice south) for 40 years. It started out all white but now it's got Mexicans, Filipinos, blacks and Asians and they're all accepted equally.

  23. i already do.. its cool. christians are christians no matter what race.

and my family's from haiti. so my parents only understand a little
