This summers olympics has seen the most successful olympian EVER in a single games- Michael Phelps. Also Usain Bolt has accomplished something that has NEVER been achieved in olympic history- winning both the 100m and 200m races and also setting new world records in them- in the very final races to boot. Oh yeh and Phelps also set new world records for every race bar one.

But besides these two amazing athletes the Olympics has in general been spectacular, from the best introduction and fireworks display I've ever seen to the American battle against the Chinese in the gymnastics, which was incredible to watch. And also the feel of the whole event has been really fun and easy going.

What about you guys? Any olympics that you've seen that better this one? Why so?

  1. some bits was goed but the uk womans ruined the olimplics, it show all the hot women and then it shows the uk womans.. they was brutal. the diver woman even had a big stomuch. she ruined the whle diving

  2. Phelps made it worthwhile. It was a grand opening, but the Chineese bought the gymnast judges, and bolt is on drugs or steroids.  Get real!

  3. Every Olympics brings up great performances. Michael Johnson winning the 200 / 400 double (something never done before), Zatopek winning the 5,000, 10,000 and marathon in one Olympics - something that has never been done nor will ever be done again, Comaneche getting the first ever perfect score in gymnastics, Carl Lewis defending the long jump over 4 olympics (only done once in Discuss by Al Orter), (ohh and he also did win the 100, 200 double as well), Suleymanaglu breaking 9 world records in one day at weigh lifting, Cassius Clay winning gold, Bob Beamon setting a record in long jump that stood for 23 years and is still the Olympic Record. Nurmi winning 9 individual running gold medals, more than Phelps has yet to win in individual events. You must be young because Olympics always throw up things "never done before". A good Olympics, Sydney was better.

  4. Well watching Michael Phelps create Olympic history and do something that has NEVER happened before was awesome.

  5. Beijing Olympics are the greatest ever.

  6. I've certainly enjoyed this one more than any other - and this is someone who took 2 weeks off work so I could stay up all night to watch Sydney 2000!

Our GB guys did great, its been so cool to watch them doing so well, especially after what feels like years of "Oh well, never mind..." lol.

  7. I haven't been alive long enough to remember many Olympics (born in 1991) but so far i'd say the Beijing Olympics are the greatest ever. That is excepting the 1936 Berlin Olympics where Jesse Owens of the US undermined n**i racial views of “Aryan” supremacy and helped foster a new sense of Black pride. It also showed what a fool the n**i dictator, Hitler, was.

Let's hope London 2012 can match or even surpass these games.

To be honest i feel honoured to have witnessed Phelps and Bolt carry out such unbelievable feats.

EDIT: 'John D' is an idiot

  8. Yes china had it good

They got to see it all first hand

  9. I agree!  With all the people commenting on how China is such a dirty place, and how all the bad publicity about their gymnasts made the news, it was a relief to see such an entertaining display of sports.  The contests were great.  I am glad I can tell my children I was alive when history was made.  Nobody will touch Phelps records for a long time.  Nice question!

  10. yep because watching phelps break 2 olympic alltime records and all those world records was awsome
