I was watching chicago tribune live and they were all saying about how they would've yanked him out of the game right away for doing that. Well, under these current circumstances (fukudome struggling and the team in the middle of the stretch run) there is no way on god's green earth i bench him even for something as disrespectful as that. Plus, he also apologized to his teammates and lou piniella after the game for doing that.

  1. Yes, as a Yankees fan I saw him do that a lot with the Yanks, even in the 2001 ALCS and I remember him doing it with Texas in 05 against the Yanks.  But now he is a leader on the Cubs and has to set an example, so he needs to be benched to get it through his head that he can't do that.

  2. can someone show a link i missed it...

  3. h**l no!! Don't forget that when he did that..the game was already over.  Not that I'm making an excuse for him but his mistake absolutely had NO impact on the game.

  4. Yes, he's very arrogant and loves showing up other players and teams. He's not a good sportsman at all. I mean when the Braves get jacked up over stuff like that you know he's being a total jerk. I remember he did this same c**p to the Braves last season too, trying to show them up. I can't stand Sorryano.

  5. I wouldn't bench him he is really helping them and everyone. But I do agree he shouldn't do that it just makes him look bad as a leader and as an all star.

  6. the other team should put one in his ear @ about 95mph.

    That would stop the posing!

  7. not benched ".fined" give him a reason to run next time

  8. that is the worst excuse ever.  there is only one and there will be only one manny.  he is the only one who can get away with stuff liek that.

although a rod tends to pimp his hr's a lot sometimes too.

  9. Yup ... a ball that hits the base of the wall? C'mon, Lou - time to show him a little r&r, courtesy of pine time. One other reason you have to bench him? Cub fans have seen this type of thing before - overconfidence - they aren't going to respond well to a player who does this on a team that hasn't won a championship in a century!

  10. oh its just part of the game. remmeber when manny put his arms up every time he hit a homerun or flip his bat when he knew it was gone.

thats just how they do it. not showing people up. I personaly would of ask him to watch it next time if it was a big  problem but its not somehing to be worried about.

  11. no but he was stupid for doing that
