  1. excellent question

mmmmmmm prehaps the time i would have yes  (mind you i dont think many people got a choice)  but knowing what i know about the conditions and long it lasted etc then no!

i can only assume back then, queen and country really was something worth fighting for.  Britain was GREAT back then and people wanted to protect the country for years to come.

I think they were fantastic poeple and deserve every bit of respect we can give them.

  2. americans used to have a patriotic nature, and would fight for ideals. Today many object to war and won't fight but expect freedom to have no cost.I would have joined, as a duty to my country. That was a brutal war, and our troops were magnificent.

  3. Yes, I would be like most Americans, thinking it will be a great adventure.

  4. Of course not. I wouldn't like to fight in any war especially one that involved the use of toxic gas and other chemical weapons. Millions volunteered, because they were willing to show their nationalism towards their country.

  5. No thanks. WW1 had the most cases of trench feet. Google it.

  6. Knowing me, I probably would have joined up; a fresh-faced young recruit wanting an adventure on the Continent. I'd have a great time fighting the Hun and it'd all be over by Christmas.

And I know that afterwards, I would have eternally regretted it. My naiviety would have cost me dear.

  7. h**l no! We shouldn't have even been there! All we did is save the Brits behinds. EDIT: I would have fought in WWII because our nation was in trouble and we HAD to fight

  8. They voluteered because they were young and thought nothing would happend and in some cases you were forced to.I wouldnt but i would have to because in Poland[Poland wasnt on the map]  the tsars would take me in to there military for like 20 years and they were treated really bad like my great grandfather.
