Question:

Would you have more respect for McCain if he admitted to his mistake in picking Palin?

I would NEVER vote for McCain, but I would at least respect him as a man if he admitted that the timing of Palin as a vice presidential running mate is terrible. I don't think he looked thoroughly into her background at all, because not only is her daughter pregnant, there are questionable ethical behaviors in her professional record and her "experience" barely counts (ceo's of major companies have handled more money and over seen more people than she has).

Anyway, would supporters and opponents respect McCain more if he admitted to his mistake, or is his best bet to run with the lie and hope the mess caused by her presence will soon disappear?

  1. I'm not getting what everyone's problem is with Palin...she a normal person with problems like every other American Citizen has. Come on don't tell me there aren't people out there, where their daughter get prego at the age of 17, it happens!!! I just think she a normal person, and has normal problems, and still going to vote for him either way. I guess if you want to just throw your money away you can vote for Obama!

    McCain/ Palin 08

  2. I'd definitely have more respect for him, but he'd have to choose another running mate first. His choice to pick Palin after meeting her 2 times already makes me question his judgment, especially as he claims to be a moderate Republican and picked an Evangelical VP, to get the right wing vote. Does he not think people see this as a total political move, especially when there were so many other, more qualified VP's to pick than this unknown woman, that in reality has much different views about things that McCain said he has.

It's the biggest joke of this election. Again Mccain flip flops and gives in to the right wing and in doing so, puts this country at God knows what risks should something happen to him and she becomes President. It shows his lack of concern for the American people and putting himself first, before the people he is supposed to work for, namely every American in this country.

  3. I would have more respect for him. And Doug, yeah, your a dumb@ss. Wether you do or dont agree with abortion is yoru decision. I dont agree with it either. However, you god-d*mn republicans need to realize there are far bigger issues than abortion such as the economy and the war. God, get over yourself you dumb@ss.

  4. No, I'd think he was just trying to get out of the mess he made, which if he had better sense he never would have gotten himself into in the first place.

  5. i would respect him if he made her quit and then brought in a real candidate like mitt romney.

  6. To back out now, would further damage his campaign because he will be admitting to having poor judgment. I am sure he is kicking himself now. I have no respect for a man who is willing to stay in Iraq for "100 years''.

  7. i don't she is right for the job she has no exp. i mean VP is like being a CEO almost and 2 years is nothing you need more exp for that kind of job

  8. He obviously didn't do his homework, but it is pretty apparent that he picked Sarah __ (whatever her name is) as a way to suck in the Hillary Clinton Democrats, however the intelligent ones will not be so easily fooled.

The good news for the GOP is that all of Sarah's issues/problems/investigations are adding a little excitement to an otherwise extremely dull campaign, and distracting from the fact that the old man just doesn't have much to boast about 8-)

  9. NO. He didn't make a mistake. I respect McCain and am proudly voting for him. I would respect Liberals and Dems if they admit they made a mistake attacking minor children.

  10. shes not a mistake, not like obama thinks babys are and they should all be aborted

  11. I;ve never seen such a ridiculous VP pick

  12. You would never vote for McCain, and you would never understood why he picked her. As someone who was considering voting for McCain (and now certainly is) I think he made the RIGHT pick. If he went back on it, he would lose my vote.

Just because you and people like you (never would vote for McCain) don't understand the pick, doesn't make it a mistake or a bad choice.

  13. McCain has more experience than Obama and Biden Combined if it is experience you are looking for, and Palin has just as much, if not more experience than Obama. I dont see how her daughter who will be an adult in less than a year has any relevance, and the fact is that she has cleaned up alot of corruption in her state. The only mistake made was by Obama snubbing Hillary and picking Biden who along with Hillary questioned Obama's readiness to lead back in the primaries. I think that you are worried about all of the women votes that McCain will be sure to get now. I would be a little worried if I was a democrat.
