  1. FINALLY SOMEONE WHO CARES...THANK YOU!!

  2. uhmmmm, no      :-)

  3. I'll tell my home not to add cold water to the hot water. HOME, STOP ADDING COLD WATER TO THE HOT WATER. O.K. Done. I'll tell my neighbors house tomorrow. Can only spread so much noise polution in one day.

  4. I already have solar water heating and 70% of my domestic hot water is generated from sunlight. On average hot water need only to be between 45 and 48 degrees centigrade for bathing and showering and in fact at 55 degrees C it is hot enough to cause scalding.

Overheating water may waste energy but it depends upon many factors such as whether the water is stored in a cylinder or produced "on demand". Much also depends upon what energy is being "wasted", i.e. is it fossil fuel based or renewable.

So it isn't simply a question of reducing the temperature it has to be seen in a wider context.

  5. No I won't.  My water heater is turned right where I want it.  Am I supposed to save the Earth by lowering CO2 emissions or am I saving water?  I wonder if the left understands how much water is on Earth.  Roughly two thirds of the earth is covered by more than a mile of water.  I guess dirt will be our next shortage.  As a geologist, I get pretty irritated at people thinking they can save the earth as if it is a living entity.  It is not.  It a  large ball of rock with an iron core and a coating of mostly water.  Using a little water or emitting a little CO2 will not harm the earth.

  6. I can afford it.  I'd rather not contract Legionnaires' disease, or have water smelling like rotten eggs due to other bacteria.  A lot of us aren't on chemically treated city water, and we're thankful of it.

Apparently "suitable for drinking" in political speak doesn't necessarily mean "clean":

    How does THAT taste??

  7. i would certainly try to next winter since where i live now its summers and the heaters are off already in fact in the afternoon the water sometimes gets soo hot due to the sun i consider adding some ice to it... really!

  8. the earth will survive long past humanity.....sooo no

  9. I will do that, and the Earth will probably NOT be here past humanity! Actually, many people have already died b/c of global warming. (not talking to writer of this question)

  10. Definetly, but I don't know how. How?

  11. I will definately give it a try!!!!

  12. Of course I would, I already do.

To be honest, I have a solar panel on the top of my apartment in China, where it collects the bountiful amount of sun and heats my water that way. So, even if I do keep my water on pretty hot, I am not causing any damage to the environment.

  13. Of course I will tell people because when you use a lot of hot water it uses more energy that means that there are more fossil fuels that are being burnt thet contain CO2.
