  1. Tell your neighbor hood ice cream guy you are having a party at _____ time, and ask if he will be able to show up and stick around for about an hour, with you paying him for everything.  He may want a minimum like $100.00 to cover all the stuff people will be eating.  You may have food hogs that ask for more than they will eat.  Make sure they know they can only get one at a time and have to finish it all before they can get another - or put a 3-pop-limit on everybody.  Good luck.

  2. I would expect you to serve the ice cream from your truck.  Offer the  selections that I choose at a good price like $2--$3 per person (or less)   So that each person doesn't have to pay, payment could be made ahead of time, much like caterers do.

Or set up the truck and sell to individuals just like normal business, but give a discount.

I think the novelty of an ice cream truck would be interesting for a kid's party, but it may be too expensive for most families.

Personally, I would never hire an ice cream truck for a party.  I would either do homemade ice cream, or serve it from  large containers.   We have used ice cream trucks at church events, and that has worked well, but each person paid for their own.
