  1. yes i would

  2. Absolutely I would.  You sound as though you are very mature for your age and have a good head on your shoulders.

If you live by me I would hire you.  I have 2 babies, a 1 year old (just turned 1) and a 2 year old.

Take the course at Red Cross and get your present clients to write a referral for you, recommending you to others.  Place an ad in the newspaper or at your local grocery stores with your information.  "Mother's helper" or babysitter or both.

I would be honored to have you take care of my babies.

Best of luck to you and I hope you get lots of customers.

I started babysitting at 10 and I was "very popular" with a lot of moms in my town as they knew their kids loved me and I did really well with them .

Also, there is NO "legal age to babysit" so I have no idea where the other poster gets her information from.  It all depends on the maturity level of the person that is babysitting or in charge of the other children.   I left my daughter home alone at 9 if I had to run to the store.  No one could say a thing to me because I knew her maturity level and she had strict orders on what to not do and that was MY judgement call.

    Good luck.

    Pam

  3. Well first of all, you are below the legal age limit to babysit so parents could get into real trouble for letting you mind their kids, second, it doesnt matter how much experience you have minding them, its a case of knowing what to do if something bad happened, not saying that you not mature enough to mind kids coz you may well be BUT you are not old and wise enough to, I had a babysitting job when i was 11, this was for a 14 month old baby, have to say i was very mature and knew what to do just like you say, but that was a long time ago and when i think back i think them parents must of been so irresponsible for letting me mind her, i was still a child, but if you do the babysitting course who knows, it may well be the best thing you ever do as will give you much more knowledge, good luck x

  4. well i would have to know you and watch you with my kids see if you guys get along so yes prob. btw you have to be 14 to legally watch kids enless its bros or sisters

  5. probably not, although you have a lot of experience and you are going to take a course (which is very good by the way)  i would still prefer someone older, you say you've babysat 10 year olds, but your really only 3 years older then them, that doesn't make sense to me, sorry! but i'd prefer someone older (at least 15 or so) but you do have a lot of really good experience and i encourage you to take the red cross course!

  6. i would have to say no i wouldnt . only b/c i think your alittle to young .

  7. if i had a kid, and read your resume, then i would love all the things you have except add previous babysitting jobs's numbers. so that the new people that want to hire you can call your previous baby's parent s and ask how you are as a sitter. and when you get great comments from them, no doubt they will know how responsible you are.!

only one more thing, i would wait till your 13, just b/c 12 sounds a tad childish to me! 13 sounds more mature, responisble and dependable!

    good luck! :)

  8. Since you're 12, no.  I wouldn't hire you.

Maybe if my husband and I were going on vacation, and we needed an extra hand, I might hire to take you along, but I'd make sure you were under my supervision, and I wouldn't leave you alone very long.

  9. I personally wouldn't because it's illegal to leave your children with a minor. When you're 13 it is legal in most places, but I still wouldn't leave my two with anyone under 16. I'm sure you're a good sitter, but I would prefer someone at least old enough to drive.

  10. It sounds like you are well qualified for the position and you are preparing yourself even more-so by taking the training course.

Also, I believe legally you are allowed to be in a private residence without adult supervision (I know the age is 12 in Michigan, but I don't know if that varies from state-to-state).

It sounds like you should get a resume together and list your references to give to potential clients. It will make you appear more professional and grown-up.

  11. I honestly wouldnt hire you> Im sorry but your just way too young to be in charge of children. You dont have training courses completed, CPR or first aid training at age 12 and I require atleast those 3 items to watch my children.

  12. Probably so. Good luck to you.

  13. A great thing to do at that age is to become a mothers helper.  You could watch my kids at my job while I was working and right in the next room.  Also, a lot of moms would let you watch their kids while they clean, cook dinner, shower or do other things around the house.  This is a great way to start off babysitting and show people that you are responsible and committed.  Then when you turn fourteen you will have a lot of experience and connections.  CPR and first aid classes are a great idea for anyone who wants to work with kids so I would recommend looking into them.  Maybe someone would loan you the money to take them and you could pay them back when you got your first jobs.

  14. First I would like to meet you , get to know you better, you can not leave your kids to a stranger, do you agree?

  15. i would
