No. Tipping at Sonic isn't mandatory.

I was a carhop there in college. We made above minimum wage (then...I don't know about now). I never tip there, even though I worked there.

I think it is annoying that they said that.

I never tip at fast food places...but I will always go in if I do go to them...

first of all fast food companys frown apon tiping. i have tried to tip at mcdonalds and they have to refuse it. so no i would not tip any fast food resturant. i cant believe they said that, how rude! when i worked at a wendys they also said u r not to eccept a tip, its against the rules. hope i helped!

i always tip atleast $5 if i have it but if not i  let the car hop keep my change. i never had the box tell me i had to tip though. i do it volunteerily

Tipping depends on the individual franchise. Why not check with the franchisee about their tipping practice?

I don't tip carhops unless they come out to my car more than once. If they bring my order and I sit and eat it there and then she comes back and I get additional things, yes, I would tip her then otherwise, I have paid for my service already. BE GONE SERVING WENCH!!

They get paid $4.50 a hour, there money comes from the tips, so reminding us to tip is not a bad thing ,but if they demanded it yes, it was done wrong.  I give at lease $1   to $5   depending on what I get because I know that they don't make much but if no one took those jobs we would not have Sonic or other places.

No. I only tip Fast Food if they go above and beyond the call of duty. Like giving me a large fry when I order a small

No I wouldn't. That is totally against company policy.Tips are for prompt service and up to your discretion to give.
