okay,

if you were a parent/guardian of a 16 year old girl,

who has a boyfriend who is 17 and who she's been dating for about a year and a half (and you are sure is a good choice for her), and they hang out nearly every day and are really like best friends, and you've even noticed her self esteem has really been going up since they've been together, would you let them rent a cottage for a few days and go up by themselves ? or even with a few other friends ?

  1. I'm 15.....My mom would NEVER let me and my boyfriend do that. Of course, I made some huge mistakes in the boyfriend department this past year, and my mom doesn't trust me with any guys right now...and, tho i would never tell her, now that i have had time to think about it, I wouldnt trust me either, however, my mom wouldnt let me do that BEFORE she didnt trust me.

  2. im 17 but i dont think my mom wouldn't let me (im in the same situation right now) i've been with my bf for 26 months and i asked to go to Ocean City Maryland, which is like 2 hours away with some friends for the weekend....needless to say it didn't happen lol

  3. I'm 23, I don't have any children... but do you know what I would have done if my parents were stupid enough to let me do that at 16??? I would have ****** the **** out of my boyfriend... Good God, do not let kids do that... I'm sure they are responsible and everything, but do you really want hormone raging teenagers ALONE for a weekend???

    NO.

    The answer is always NO.

    Good god...

  4. maybe - i would have a discussion with her about respecting your body etc before she would go up, if they were both responsible and other people were there and were easy enough to reach (phone, email, etc.) i would let them go but it would also be an "experiment" so if she ever wanted to do something else like this she would have to be mature and responsible

    i think i would though

  5. Not a cold day in friggin h**l.

  6. not even a chance without an adult i trusted or two.

    i'm 24

  7. No, not in the world. don't trust that, if you don't want anything going on like a little ya know. Don't let her go. Something unlikely will happen.

  8. id get them some condoms first.

  9. No!  A 16 year old girl has no business staying the night with a boy.

  10. I might. Depends on how good she is and how much i trust her. I probably would. Not by their selves but with friends.

  11. yes if you trust her and believe she will make good choices if anything were to happen

  12. NO MOTHERF*CKING WAY!!!

I would never let my daughter under any circumstances go alone with her boyfriend and spend a night TOGETHER far away from home. Can you only imagine? They'll probably engage in sexual activity while they drink their cold beers and some a couple of joints? And can you imagine if some friends go along with them? GEEZ, NO ORGY PLEASE!!!

Yeah, I am 23 and I'm unwed and childless, but still I would never take the chance even if he seems like the perfect guy. Children these days you know, you can't really trust them when it comes to these things. If she was maybe 18 or older or even with an adult, then maybe. But any other situation, no I don't think so.

  13. h**l no! 16 is too young to be alone with a boy

  14. h**l NO. not a chance in  h**l

  15. Only if I really, really , really wanted to be a grandma.

  16. yes...when pigs fly out my nose and sing the star spangled banner

  17. no. not at all.

    not even with friends.

  18. SURE!...if they have finished their education, have jobs which pay decent salaries and you feel they are ready to become parents.

  19. nope. nope nope nope. im a 17 year old girl and its not a smart idea. they cant rent a cottage by themselves anyways.

  20. she seems like a smart girl so i'm sure they'd use protection

  21. No. If they want a honeymoon, they can darned well get married first.

  22. By themselves- No

With friends- Depends on how responsible they are (or at least how responsible she is...)

  23. My mother would have. But then again I was sleeping around with thirty-year-old men at that age and she would have jumped for joy at the fact I found a 17-year-old boyfriend.

But would I let my daughter do this? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...

  24. oh sweetie I'm sorry but i would never let my 16 year old be in a house alone with a boy. good luck!

  25. yes and what they do is none if your business

  26. my parents let me go in one of my friend's cottage  when i was 16, only i didn't go with a bf, but a bunch of friends from school. and we didn't get into any trouble, it was fun. i would let my daughter ( if i had one ) go with at least a few kids, boys and girls, but she'll have to call me a few times a day and always answer her phone if i call her, and if i knew all the other kids and knew that i could trust them.
