A question about parents being to protective made me think about something...my sister has a big meadow as part of her garden so they have a big ride-on lawn mower....my sister and her husband let their 5 year old drive it! I was horrified when they told me...surely its a silly thing to do? 5 year olds could panic if say..the family dog ran out in front of her...she could fall off or anything..its a big machine not a little one..

  1. There is no way I'd let a five year old drive it! It is far too dangerous, I'm not an overprotective mum, but allowing a five year old to drive it seems far too risky, even if a parent was with them. As you say, anything could happen, it is a risk just not worth taking.

  2. She must be very brace to let him drive it.

    I guess it's very dangerous.

I hope that he's always supervised when he's on it.

Maybe you can have a word with the mother?

    =]

    xo

  3. Never!

We have an 11 year old son, this is the first summer  we have let him cut the grass using one of these.

you are right to be concerned, remember the little girl and the quad bike V a rangerover?

To me a ride on mower is a Quad with blades!!

  4. At 5 no I'd be too scared letting them ride! It's a machine-I mean you'd let them play with a regular lawnmower!!!!

Like someone already said-if you were riding with them then yeah its ok but not alone!

Sounds like they need to buy child a ride on something of her own!!!
