  1. Yeah he is a kid let him be one. I was brought up religous but my parents didn't make me miss out on things because of it. Let him go and have fun.

  2. YES YES YES !!!!

    GOD WOULD NOT MIND...

  3. Sure why not?

  4. What would your child rather do?

  5. yeah

  6. Yes, unless you were planning on going to the Good Friday Service at your church.

  7. Unless you have plans or agaist it

    Why not

  8. yes, I am not religous so it does not affect my life at all

  9. for sure. friday makes people more sociable

  10. Yes. Cake and ice cream are still allowed on Good Friday aren't they? Just make sure he goes to the fish fry with you when he gets home from the party.

  11. Yes would let them go but like a previous poster said ask them not to eat meat.  I am a huge meat eater who doesn't like fish but still manage to refrain on good friday and would expect my child to as well.

My old parish church (only old cause moved not a problem) sent the church choir on a social outing on good friday so no difference there.  The difference was the social outing was to mcdonalds and when the children asked about if they could eat it on good friday the vicar looked shocked as they had forgot...lol...he responded that he didn't think god classed chicken nuggets as meat...lol.

  12. sure, if your not religious, then who cares? Honestly.

  13. No, not in our family.

  14. Yes, why wouldn't I?

  15. why not?  would you let your kid attend a birthday party on fat tuesday?

  16. Yep.  There is no reason, even if you attend Good Friday functions, for not celebrating the birthday of another person.

  17. I would.

You don't want to make religion a chore, or they're going to end up on the wrong path. Make it their decision from the beginning. Just show them the way.

    It won't hurt.

  18. yes

  19. depends if you allow your son to eat meat, most children are allowed to eat meat and this is provided in the Bible. If they are and you don't want your son eating meat ask your child not to eat it. other than that i see no real problem to going to a party Jesus did give his life on Good Friday but I'm sure there is no problem with allowing fun and celebration during Good Friday, this day is supposed to be a happy occasion anyway to celebrate the sacrifice of Our Lord so why not hes just a kid.

  20. oh no you should make his friend change his birthday!  of course he should be able to go, just because its good friday is no reason to punish him and thats exactly how the  kid would see it.

  21. Why not.  Celebrate on Easter Sunday not Good Friday.

  22. Yes I would. I am catholic but I don't see anything wrong with it. I would look into what they are serving to eat though and remind my child that they are not supposed to eat meat, so if it is pizza, to make sure they pull off the pepperoni and don't eat any wings. Even if you are religious it is hard to explain to a child why they can not attend a birthday party just because it is Good Friday. Now Easter Sunday would be another story.

  23. yeah i would the kids are not concerned abou twhat day it is.

  24. Why not?  The kids dont care what day it is.
