Question:

Would you like for Nascar to issue an engine to all the teams?

It seems that every season we have a team or make of car that has a more powerful engine than that of the others. Some people think it has happened again this season. I'm not sure at the Cup level. Nascar built the COT to level the playing field. Would you like to see all the engines used by all Nascar teams built by one engine builder to specs mandated by Nascar? Then the sealed engine issued to the teams before the race and collected afterwards?

It's either that or we quit complaining about the horsepower advantage, because until all engines are the same this cycle will continue!

I myself will not complain, I didn't want the COT and don't want an EOT!

We as Nascar fans can't have both! Equal engines and different engines built by different builders!!!

Yes or No and your thoughts please!

PEACE

  1. No, NASCAR resembles IROC too much already..

Some of the declining attendance is the economy. But NASCAR is fooling itself if thinks that's the only reason...  The COT has made races boring.

  2. No, I dont like that idea at all.

  3. No! We already have the COT, with a standard engine it would be IROC.

  4. If your going to issue engines to go into the COT then PLEASE take the word Stock out of NASCAR  cause what we will have are 43 clones of something  some NASCAR offical dictates.  Might as well take the drivers out too and give the crew chief a remote control to drive the car from   his computer

  5. No, I wouldn't like that at all.  I'm just not sure how to address this issue and I don't think NASCAR does either.  They started this whole move to take away aerodynamic advantages and the mandated front splitter, along with the bump stops, has taken away a lot of the suspension advantages some teams had with the "downforce" car.  I guess if it were up to me I would have a horsepower window that all engines had to fall within and randomly check them after races.  You need something left for the different manufacturers to have a say in, as far as fuel mileage and horsepower, but if there is too large of a discrepancy between them it's not going to be a very competitive series.  I don't want to see NASCAR go the way of F1, where there are only a couple of teams capable of winning the championship.

edit:  I agree with the first poster in that I would also like to see more adjusability in the COT.

    3 STR8 N 08!!!

  6. Right the opposite. Let teams build their own engines, be competitive allowing teams to have their own little tricks up their sleeves, and be more  flexible with the COT bodies and aero designs.

If  NASCAR governing the cars  comes down to a 15 to 30 HP advantage determines who wins races then I'd say  the cars are too equal. There needs to be more ways that teams can have  advantages so the competition is greater.

Equal everything would be like going to the pay-to-race  go-cart track and watching kids go around in circles.

  7. yes, if they're gonna do this stupid car they should all have the same engine.

  8. They have already made all the cars alike (think IROC here) it wouldn't surprise me if they did another boneheaded move like that. Tha COT should be scrapped and bring back factory templates.

  9. thats dumb then it wouldnt be no fun cause soon thts gonna be a grey area so no person in the feild will be fast other kyle busch wooo. but back to the subject no would hate to see it nasar just has to give the teams there credit fo their time in finding a fast setup go toyota

  10. Teams should build their own engines. When you get 43 cars that are exactly alike how are you going to advance your position. It would be like watching a train going around a race track. NASCAR has already regulated enough.
