  1. No. Unless the table is too small to carry all our orders, she could probably remove the empty plates but she has to ask us first.

  2. No, that's bad etiquette. The diners are supposed to be made to feel at ease, not like they're being chased away.

It's also bad manners to remove one person's empty plate if somebody else at the table is still eating.

  3. Depends. As long as she keeps making sure I have refills on my beverage, and checks occasionally to see if I want anything else. She can clear the table of the plates before I leave the establishment. Why? Because, if I am meeting with a friend, or someone I have a really good conversation going with, I may not want to leave right after done eating. Or, I may want to let the food digest a bit before having dessert.

Plus, it shows me that the waitress is paying attention to my needs. And that is appreciated.

    Take care.

  4. Nope. I'll leave when I like to leave.

  5. Proper etiquette (especially at fine dining restaurants) have the server clear the course before the next course is due. As in clear appetizers that are done when salads come out, clear salad bowls when main course comes out, clear main course plates when dessert or coffee is served.  Who wants to have a cluttered table?!   Most restaurants MAKE the server pre-bus. (as stated above) But the sever should ask first is it okay if I take that out of your way.

  6. No as long as its done when I sit down and also for the next people - I would find it annoying if I was not ready to leave and the table was being cleaned

  7. NO, because then it would make me feel like she is trying to get me to leave.  But the table should be clean when I arrive though.

  8. I tell them to bugger off.

Ive paid for my meal & I,ll leave when Im good & ready.

  9. it doesnt matter as long as its clean when i eat

  10. No, I think it makes it look as if they are trying to get you to leave. As long as the table is clean when I sit down and previous courses are moved promptly.

  11. No, it would make me feel like she is rushing me out the door, i wouldn't like that. they are not suposed to, until you leave.

  12. to be honest, i'd prefer it if YOU cleaned my table before i left, then shine my shoes...

  13. No, she can clear the table, but she can clean it once I've left

  14. No, I want to sit and have a conversation

  15. yes.it is only polite.

  16. Just so everyone knows.... the server IS supposed to clean the table, it's called pre-bussing. If they don't they get into trouble. They are supposed to take away the empty plates and break baskets and glasses.
