  1. A sort of advanced race of champions? Good idea, especially if its held at a track that none of the drivers know well, like Estoril in Portugal. Would have to be a equal car too. Maybe a Gp2 car.

  2. YES.

  3. F1 is supposedly the highest category of motor sport, the Premiership, it would make no sense to pitch them against the "minor leagues".

Bernie would never accept something like this, what's in it for F1?

F1 drivers would have nothing to win and lots to loose.

It would be the opposite for Indy drivers, nothing to loose, lots to win.

It's not like pitching the best soccer teams of every continent against each other, F1 is international.

It's exactly that, already the best in the world, anyone who argues with that can't hope to race against an F1 driver from his own series, he has to get into F1 and prove it.

So, to answer the original question, I would like to see something like that but I don't think it's a good idea for F1.

Let's not forget that a driver gives his best self where he feels he needs to and for F1 drivers that is in F1.

That's where they put all their energy into.

You can be certain that a race car driver that is not fully prepared and 100% pumped up for the challenge ahead is just another driver no matter how talented he is.

People don't understand this and such confrontation would send out the wrong messages about F1.

  4. I would like to see F1 and Indy drivers do some head to head competition. Most of the open wheel champs that go to F1 struggle in lousy equipment. Sebastian Bourdais is a good example. How good would Bourdais be in a Ferarri?
