Would you live forever in an instant, or an instant in forever?

These are the terms/facts: In your instant, you would be semi-immortal; you would have all the time you need in order to experience everything everywhere. You can choose any point in passing time. While there, you could learn anything you want to about any object, creature, or person in the present—where they are, how they are feeling, their memories. When you are satisfied, or have learned everything there is to know, you would die. You are limited to the present and past, and you would know the absolute truth. You might learn the meaning of life, but if reality is an illusion, your infinite instant will be very short.

Living in passing time is how you live now. You have to grow, and learn, and although sometimes you can learn from others’ experiences, you often have to learn for yourself.

So, would you be an (im)mortal deity/information sponge, or live a mortal life?

  1. Based on your personal definition of the facts, I would certainly choose semi-immortality.  I would just take an eternity to learn everything.  By choosing that tact, I would never die (based on your assumptions).
