Hi Folks,

In true Bob style, I have seen a range of mountain bikes with a shoe-box sized jet engine behind the saddle.

A 6V battery to crank it up, a throttle control on the handlebars, a small tank of aviation fuel bolted to the cross-bar, and away you go at up to about 50mph.

Is this a daft notion I wonder

I like off-road pedal bikes, so a converion to jet may be on the cards.

Aviation fuel is available at an RAF station about 5 miles away.

So I could overtake everthing to fill up in under 10 mins.

My family are not impressed with the notion, so I ask for a bit of a straw poll.

Thanks,

Bob

  1. No I would not

  2. It evokes an cartoon image of Wile E. Coyote in his eternal, yet futile chase of the Roadrunner, but when it explodes or plunges off a cliff in real life it would not be so funny.

Leave that one on the drawing board

  3. Dear Bob,you really ought to get out more often....
