  1. I think you're giving up too much...Try Jake and Plaxico for Drew and T.J.  if he doesn't like it then add Jerico to the deal.

  2. Here's the thing - you really want to pay attention to camp this year.  Plaxico isn't reporting because of contract issues, and Boldin is strongly dissatisfied with his contract as well.  They're both pro's who've been around for a long time, so I doubt it will effect them, but it could.  TJ is a WR who is steadily increasing in value as Chad Johnson becomes more marginalized in Cincy.  Drew Brees is definitely an upgrade over Delhomme  (for now) - you need to see how Delhomme is coming back from the elbow injury.  Roddy White is not nearly as talented as Plax or Anquan, but he is the featured Atl wide receiver and Matt Ryan should be able to get him the ball for about 6-8 scores on the year.

If you do this deal, I would say that TJ and Roddy will be worth something like 20 TD's (last year they had 18) while Plax and Boldin will be worth about the same/at most two or three more (last year they had 21).  You're really not losing a lot at WR - so the trade hinges on whether you think Drew Brees is going to be better than Delhomme - and I believe he will be with the a lot of weapons like the emergence of Robert Meachem (as a #2 WR) after last year's injury and a pass-catching TE in Shockey along with WR Marques Colston and Reggie Bush coming out of the backfield.  Also, a lot of indications out of Panthers camp are that Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams are going to be a strong two-pronged running attack - maybe not as much opportunity for Delhomme to showcase his aerial skills.

See how camp goes for Delhomme and watch the contract issues on your WR's.  It'll be a big August.

  3. Drew Brees > Jake Delhomme

    Boldin&Burress > TJ&White

Boldin is unhappy in Arizona and Plaxico may have a letdown season after winning the Super Bowl. White is in a whole new offense (which is better) in Atlanta and TJ could be the prime target for Palmer this season, since Chad Johnson is a headcase.

Bottom line - I do the deal. You upgrade considerably at QB and you still have an elite WR in Owens. Just make sure you check the bye weeks before making the deal.

  4. I think you are definitely giving up too much but you need help at QB as you don't have a good starter or even a mediocre backup. I would have to think you could pick up a better backup option than edwards.

  5. The upgrade you get in Brees over Delhomme is well worth the very slight hit you take at WR.  With having TO and TJ as two of your WR's....you could start Neil Rackers at your 3rd WR spot and still outscor most teams in receiving.
