Question:

Would you murder a human being if it was the only way to save a species from going extinct?

Allow me to clarify...a species of animal (IDK, lets say the Cheetah) is going to end up extinct unless you kill a single man. You will be tried in court and the evidence against you will be overwhelming But by killing this one single guy, the entire species will be guaranteed safe for at least as long as you live.

Do you do it?

  1. No.

  2. I am not sure if I would or not but I would d**n sure consider it. Depends on who the person was. lol I have an ex husband I will offer up as the target! If that works out then yup, sure would.

  3. I agree with answerer #1.  I'll do what I can within the law, but after that it is God's job.

  4. h**l no, we're animals just like them. If cheetah's can't compete for food or hide from poachers, let them die!

You don't see mountain lions having meetings or passing laws about deer because they want the species to last unnaturally long. We shouldn't either.

How would prick like it if that one human was him.

  5. nope

    Let Darwin win.

If the species can't survive ... good riddance.

  6. No.

If you would kill a man for killing a Cheetah, then...

It is one small step more to killing a lumber jack because he is cutting a tree.

And one small step more past that to crashing an airliner into a building full of people because they do not worship God in the right way.

    (The following was added later)

If you are willing to die for your cause, you are like Gandhi.

If you are willing to kill for your cause, you are like Hitler.

If you are willing to do both, you are like a terrorist.

  7. I`ll never think in that way!!!!!!

    believe me.............

  8. I would certainly do it. Animals are worth more than humans.

  9. Great question. And a very troubling on as well.

In China killing a panda or tiger results in a very good chance of getting yourself killed. There are a few other spots on the Asian side of the Pacific Rim that have the death penalty option for killing various endangered species.

Last year it appears that two Siberian tiger poachers were killed sniper style. My initial attitude was that they brought that on themselves.

As vitally important as it is to save the globes endangered species, I think there needs to be a higher road taken here. I think life in prison for killing any endangered species will have to do until we find better ways to protect them.

So I guess my answer is no... though not for lack of conviction...rather a moral "high road" as I said.

  10. in less than a heartbeat. Guilt is for humans only because we feel that as a species we are important. We place ourselves at the top of the food chain as every species would, but we are no different. Just another mammal mutated with greed.

  11. No. Not my job to protect a species. That's God's Job and he has the power to accomplish it. :)

  12. Only if it's one of your parents, because they bred such a moron.

  13. No you are under a false understanding that the species would be protected by killing one man. it took more than one man to make the species endangered. as much as i admire the cat i would say that killing someone for it would be a crime that you could not live with.

  14. Yes I will.

  15. Man, in so far as he is determined to a particular action because he has inadequate ideas, cannot be absolutely said to act in obedience to virtue; he can only be so described, in so far as he is determined for the action because he understands.

  16. No I wouldn't, but the nutcases who would can rest assured their legal bills will get paid for by PETA and they would beat the rap because the arresting officer once blew up an ant colony on the 4th of July.

  17. h**l no, I wouldnt because like Darwin says if a species can't adapt it must die.  Cheetahs should've developed kevlar fur, infinite stamina to run away from vehicles and

trap-evasion intelligence by now.  Stupid cheetahs....

  18. Good question....... well, extinct is forever so my gut reaction is to say of course I would. But maybe there is dna around for the "cheetah" and is possible to be cloned and therefore "saved". Well, then maybe I wouldn't.

But if it is just the two of us in the jungle and I need to make a snap decision................. I would kill him.

  19. This question was put to Joan Baez in the 1960's by a reporter.  It is what is called a moral dilemma (either way you answer, you're wrong), a type of trick question.

The reporter asked her if she was driving a school bus along a mountain road and saw a man in the road with no room to stop would you (A) drive off the road with the bus full of children to avoid killing the man, or (B) run the man down in order to save the children.

Joanie answered:  "Because I'm a human being I'd probably panic, slam on the brakes and put the bus into a spin, running the man down, then drive it over the edge of the cliff."

    Let me guess...Debate Club?

  20. yep............................

cut them up into tiny pieces and the play in there blood

    one human for a species...

thats the kinda fair trade uganda want

  21. Depends on the person, depends on the species.

Smite d**k Cheney to save the elephants?  You betcha.

Kill d**k Clark to save the Rocky Mountain Spotted Tick?  Sorry, he'll be doing New Year's Eve forever.

d**k Cheney vs. Tick.......hmmmmmm.....   Can I get back to you on that one?

  22. No, I would not kill a human to save a species from going extinct. Be rational, re locate humans if that is the case.

  23. No

Might tie him to a pole or something but killing someone in the name of not killing is uhhh...  stupid and hypocrytical
