tks for all sharing :) hmm i read lately about Lewis Carl Hamilton , the F1 rookie driver who take the 2007 F1 by storm. He was given this name based on the legendary Olympic medalist Carl Lewis :) Just a little sharing though. For myself, would I ? Hmm, i prefer Hamilton instead as I was inspired by his personality and hard work, dedication and commitment to be the world Formula 1 champion. As for Phelps, I wouldn't mind too, i hope my son will have his qualities to persevere, not quite to break records but to achieve his dream. in short its not just getting a name but its the inspiration background that matter most.

  1. NOOO

it's not even in the baby name book..

and it reminds me to a sharpie (felt tip pen)

  2. no because it seems like it needs help or something or people would talk in a lisp in spite of the kid.

  3. um no.

  4. Nope.  It's a last name.... and besides it doesn't look very aesthetically pleasing

  5. Phelp is a BAD idea.

  6. No, but I don't think it sounds that bad.  I mean, first thing I think of is a hot Olympic record setter and that's not a bad thing!

I'd rather meet a Phelp over a Adolph if you know what I mean :)

  7. If I liked it....yes. The kid would probably hate it tho.

  8. never.

  9. Probably not, just my opinion

  10. no cause he/she wud get so much **** for having a weird name

  11. no of course!

  12. Never heard of it, not even as a last name.  Phelps is a surname that everybody in the world is now familiar with.  If you wanted to name your kid Phelps as a tribute to the Olympic record smasher you should probably keep it intact so people will recognize it.  It's not really a very atractive name.  It's better than Spitz I suppose but it would work better as a middle name.
