  1. No.  It runs  Windows Vista.

  2. not with windows vista

  3. Uhhh I would totally go for it. 650 for a computer like that. That computer would last a pretty long time. So you'll probably start doing other things on it later. So yeah I would definitely buy that computer.

  4. Yes, you can pay. It is a good config, although I think the graphics card is a little old. I think you can get a new system with similar updated specs. Why buy a refurbished one when you can go in for a new one? Anyway good luck.

  5. Intergrated or standalone video?

You want a standalone video card for gaming.

  6. it is good, + i agree with him, you need a stand alone video card

  7. seems like a good deal. the processor alone would run about $250 retail.

weak link is the PSU. that'll limit your video card upgrades.

  8. Not bad I suppose for a pre-built. (I'm a hard-core, tell people to build it yourself, computer geek, so I'm going easy on this, in respect to you!)

Gamer computer? Let's go over a few things.

1.See that Q6700 up there? The Intel Core2 Quad, that has four cores operating at 2.66GHz EACH? 8MB's of L2 cache, and a 1066MHz Front Side Bus? That is a Kick-A processor! Some people slam it, but they don't know how to 'Dial It In'. (Wannabe 'computer geeks'! lol!) (That's like having Four Pentium 4 processors that run at 2.66GHz each! Now this doesn't add up to 4 x 2.66GHz. 1064GHz. The processor still operates at 2.66GHz. Crude example to help explain this: You have one man digging a ditch outside. Take him out, and put four men of the same build in his place. Which scenario will get the job done faster? The one man is a single core processor. The four men are the Quad Core processor.

Problem, as I see it right now is,

A.There are only a handful of games written for the Quad Core. Only a handful that can utilize the four cores of a Quad Core. However the Quad Core is the future for gaming. programmers are moving fast to write games for the Quad Core. (Of Course! $$$$$$$$$) BIOS updates are coming out all the time. (Not sure if they'll help in this instance!)

Feel like waiting? Want to play the older games, or the newer ones?

2.Good speed and type of ram! DDR2 at 800MHz,(PC6400) Good amount! 4GB's!

3.That's a 1 TeraByte harddrive. 1000 GigaBytes! That's as big as you can go right now! Kind of a pain when it comes time to defragment your harddrive! LOT's of ROOM!

4.That is a dedicated graphics card PEOPLE! It's a Nvidia GeForce 8600GT! See where the PCI-Express x16 slot is OCCUPIED?

This is a low end card for gaming though! I would suggest a XFX Geforce 8800GTS Alpha Dog Edition. (Not to be confused with the old 8800GTS! This one has 128 Stream Processors! Gives off less heat. Uses less power than the 8800GTX. Is HIGHLY overclockable! Need I say more?

    B.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkUJYKnsg...

(Listen to the specs of this card. Listen to the frame rates, and view the spec's!)

5.It has an 8 Speaker Surround Sound Audio system! Attach a speaker system with just four speakers, and a woofer, plus an amplifier, and have your hair blown back like in the commercials! lol!

Neighbors at the end of the block will be calling the cops, because they think a war is going on at your house! (Just turn C.S.S. down!)

(You can also plug a large screen in for a monitor, with the above vid card!)

Not a Vista fan! HOWEVER, this computer has ample enough ram, more than enough processor, and for Vista, a decent graphics card. Plus this is the Vista Home PREMIUM 64 BIT! How does it do with gamin'? Don't know! Not a Vista fan!

Refurbished? Shouldn't be a problem if it's a refurbished unit. I would use a refurbished unit any day! (If I didn't build my own!)

Best Buy? I shouldn't slam, but there's a problem for me! I would kick the geeks at GeekSquad to the curb! Don't like the warranty that Best Buy puts out. However this is second-hand information, so it's best to use your own judgement. (Like YOU wouldn't anyway? I'm relying on your judgement. I'm hoping you're using deductive reasoning, based on intelligent conclusions.)

Edit: Totally spaced out! My bad! You do need a better power supply for the XFX Geforce 8800GTS. About 500 to 550 watts should do it, and run your system, with wattage to spare. (You should always allow a 10% more wattage, 'buffer')
