Question:

Would you pay extra? To fly an Eco-Friendly Airline?

Do you believe people would be willing to pay extra, not much extra, for a flight on board an environmentally friendly airline? One that uses the electric tugs to transport planes to the runway, instead of using the plane's own power. Also, using the most efficient aircraft, like the Bombardier C Series, and such environmentally friendly actions. Not only during flight, but also ground practices.

Would you pay extra, knowing that helping the environment should be priceless?

Thanks

  1. i probably wouldnt, just being honest i always fly cheap

  2. Honestly... No. I would rather save money and I know this sounds very... selfish and I am. But I will take a cheaper flight, my great great grandkids are just going to have to get skin cancer and hang out in my old garbage.

  3. Nope.  I'm sure that there are some environmental wackos out there that would though.

  4. Actually depends on how much serious the airline company is about this. If they are really doing for the sake of advertising themselves - surely No. Moreover many people like me will often think about the immediate and apparent benefit to us - that is cost. So this may not work out.

Instead if there are some regulations to insist all the airlines to be eco friendly - as you have mentioned, then it becomes uniform and we have to defnitely bear the cost, considering there won't be huge difference in cost.

  5. Easy to answer, if I NEEDED to fly I would pay extra, but what one person sees as need another sees as greed.

  6. Sugar, I am 43 years old and have never flown on a plane. If someone wanted to donate a round trip ticket so I could just fly once in my life... I would like that! I do not care if it is eco-friendly or not, I just want to fly!

  7. Air travel is not friendly to the environment.  It's a bit like having a square circle.  I would like to see the details of the carbon offsets they are involved in; I reckon they would need to be massive to offset a commercial airline.  I am betting that it would not be economically viable.

If by some miracle it could be done in an environmentally neutral or positive way, I'd pay the extra, no sweat (well, my account would sweat...)

  8. Yep, i definatley would
