Absolutely, holidays are about relaxation and privacy, far too much accommodation these days that only seems to cater for people with children, all you get then is noise and interruptions.

no never, if you shop around and do your home work well

use the internet go in to visitor centres thats what they are there for  i work in one , and talk to the staff , find out where you can get a good deal that is quiet, you can get some great accomodation like chalets down south overlooking a lake that gives you privacy without costing an arm and leg

Yes I always do.  I rent a villa so I'm not surrounded by the screaming hoards.
