Would you pay someone to wrap up your present?

I'm doing a research, thank you for your help!

Would you use a gift wrapping service, I mean no ordinary gift wrapping. It would be beautiful, personal and individual wrapping of your gifts. It would be in a shopping mall, so you would buy a present and then go to that shop, and then you could choose a paper and accessories etc and they would wrap it for you.

Would you consider using it?

How much would you be prepared to pay for that service?

Also, handmade cards, would you buy them and how much would you be prepared to pay for them?

Thank you for your time!

  1. yeah totally!

  2. laziness thses days

  3. Yes I do every year around Christmas time and will continue to do so!  I am all thumbs when it comes to trying to neatly wrap a present.  When I Christmas shop for my wife, I'm always running to the "gift wrapping center" and have them do it, because mine end up looking like someone picked a present out of the trash! LOL  You can add those little trinket things to them.  My wife is into Angels, so on top of her "main" present there is always some sort of Angel figuring attached to it.  My symbol of her being my angel~! As far as tagging a price, hmmm I don't know.  per present or per bunch?  I think I pay like $2.00 per present.  Not sure how much to "prepare" for the service, never really thought about it.  Just like the fact that my presents don't stick out like a sore thumb anymore.

    So I'm all for it!

  4. I don't think id use such a service.

I like to wrap my own gifts it adds a personal feeling

and when you do it yourself you have saved money.

  5. No cause my family brings their presents to me to wrap

  6. There is more demand for this than many people think.  Major department stores offer gift wrapping services.  See what they charge in your area, and price your services accordingly.  If you are at the mall, certainly make sure that you can offer at least the same level of service for the same price or less and still make a profit.  People may be willing to pay a little bit more for your service IF part of the money goes to charities.

I have also seen people advertise home gift wrapping services, where the gift wrapper comes to the client's home to wrap his gifts, which are usually many.  You may be able to charge by the hour plus cost of materials.  Print up business cards and place them at various places, have friends circulate them for you, and seek out a few of those business card exchange displays.

As far as cards, you could also make money selling these.  Good stationary get fetch big bucks (just look at Crane Paper Company).  However, you would want to start out by selling custom, high quality cards at prices that can compete with Hallmark, not Crane's (at least not initially).  Offer them with your gift wrapping service.

Also, keep a day job.  Keep in mind that because of the very nature of this business, it is highly seasonal.
