Would you pay your children to study? Students = Would you study if you were paid?

A new poll on CNN came up, and I personally think it is ridiculous. What are your thoughts. Please explain.

I wouldn't - there is a lot to be said for intrinsic motivation.

I would definitely encourage my child though and help him through. But pay him to go? No way.

No--not only because it's teaching him to be totally selfish and materialistic (studying is for his ultimate good, after all), but because if the kid decided he didn't need the money, and stopped studying, you would have no way of making him do it.

My greatest motivation behind education is to broaden my horizons and knowledge,I will study for these and also for bright future, it is a personal motivation,paying me may not help me to do well it as it may force myself to do it becuase of money.
