  1. yes i would pick them up, or help them, or whatever was necessary, provided their parents or other responsible adult didn't come along and do it first.

  2. Einchen is right.  Here in the States, unless you're a certified med personnel, it's best to call for help rightaway, stay near the child (comfort him) but don't move him.   You don't want to compound his injuries.  At the same time, start looking around for his parents/guardians.   Children should never be on their own without adult supervision.

  3. Teh first reaction would be to check if the child is conscious, then call the proper authorities to pick him up.   You can tell if the child had a hard fall or not because of the bruises in his body or head.   Do not over crowd him/her to avoid suffocation.  Keep on talking to the child until the help arrives.

  4. Jak sie masz! My name Borat. I run away and hide. People might think I push the child.

  5. My goodness we have sunk to a new low here.  Suppose we all just walked right past YOU????

  6. Hmmm... I would stay pretty close to the child and observe for a moment to see if they are all right. But if the child is crying, has an injury, or doesn't seem okay in any way, I'd help them. Even if an angry parent comes, I'll just try to explain. If they're still angry at me, well I'd doubt they'll see me again in my life anyways. At least I made an effort to help the child.

  7. When I am walking, the child walking with me, and tripped,  I would by instinct help him up, even hold him to the light of day to check for bruises.   I might even hold up my fingers to make him count.   See inside the mouth if any tooth is missing.   Check if he can wiggle fingers and toes.  If everything is ok,  we will simply keep on walking.

Children are supple and resilient.   They may cry out loud when hurt,  but in the next moment, knock you out cold with an upper cut or give you a blackeye with a "saiken" blow.

Now, if I see the child falling from a building, that's something else.    I might just have to shoot him with my Nitro Gun, freezing every molecule till the medics arrive.

  8. Of course, i would.

  9. If it happened in the Philippines or Asia, I'd definitely pick that child up in a nanosecond and check if he/she's fine. I would be quite hesitant to do the same in US. I don't want to risk myself being sued for whatever reasons in my purpose to help that child. I would just say, "Are you all right?", ridiculous it may sound but I wouldn't touch that child unless his/her parents are my friends.

  10. If I saw the child fall, and saw HOW he fell, I might pick him up.

As a trained First Aid volunteer, we have to guard against injuries that may be caused by moving a person who fell, child or adult. Sometimes, the damage caused by moving the person is worse than the original injury. Only a trained medical personnel/paramedic should move someone who fell.
