If you had AKQJ of diamonds, and a deuce in Deuces Wild video poker, would you wash the deuce and go for the natural royal flush?

Wild Royal Flush: 25:1

Natural Royal: 300:1

If you even need to ask this question, then you obviously do not have or have not memorized proper playing strategy. I have provided a link to an online strategy chart, as well as a strategy card you can purchase and take with you to the casino. For the record, the correct play is to keep the wild royal, and it's not even close.

Keep the wild royal.

The expected return when drawing for the natural is around 19:1 compared to the 25:1 for keeping the wild royal.

Take the money and run!

Odds 1 out of 47 to catch the ten, 3 out of 47 to catch another duece, and 9 out of 47 to catch another diamond, 4 out of 47 to catch a 10 for the straight, etc.

You are only getting 12 to 1 odds on your money ( $25 to $300) verses 47 to 1 odds on your draw.

It's hard enough to beat video poker, why give up a sure thing?
