Question:

Would you post your pic online?

I did until people who had no pic started to blatantly criticise it and tell me I am fat and ugly and all these horrible things. Not that I was asking for attention. How do you deal with cyber bullies like this. Before you say it, I know what I am and who cares what I look like? Surely a person can post a real un-photoshopped pic without being criticised by people who have an ugly pic themselves or no pic. And finally, last question could you recognise someone in real life by their pic?

  1. People who don't have pics up don't have it up for a reason, coz they believe they are fat and ugly... so they decide to mock others so that they can feel better about themselves.

I am careful as to where I post my pics but I do sometimes, on occasion.

The only way to deal with em is to ignore em, they just do it to make themselves feel good. Deep down they're sad and hollow, don't worry about them.

and lastly, yes you can recognise someone from a pic depending on how clear the pic is I guess. But its the world wide web, whats the chances of meeting em???

  2. here is my  pic.   so i guess the answer is yes. i would. I wish more people would too. I have met people in person that i met online first and most of them looked  like thier  picture

  3. no i wouldnt.. do u mean like in those questions where people ask people to look at their photo and rate them? i could never do that, not cos i think i'm ugly but i know how mean and spineless some people are and they will criticise u no matter what u look like.

and i doubt theyd notice you unless they spent a long time looking at your photo.

  4. I have not yet. Probably won't unless there are privacy settings.

  5. not in a question, but in private messages or my avatar? yes i would

  6. Well... this is really ME... and if they wish to call me fat, ugly, etc... well.. it's happened, indeed, but like the old adage goes, "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me."

And if they get REALLY nasty, I report them... because THAT is against Y!A's Guidelines and TOS.

Recognizing someone by their pic?  Sometimes yes, sometimes no.  Trust me, my driver's license pic is HORRIBLE!

    Have a polite day.

  7. First of all, yes I do post my pictures online. My avatar is already one of them and since I got both Facebook and MySpace, I also post my pictures on those two sites, too.

And 2nd, I don't really care about how other people look like. They are just themselves and I don't have the right to criticize them or whatever, even though I know that other people would like to criticize my pictures but I'm actually fine with it. Coz I know that I am not that good looking and whatever, but I'm just myself. I am me.

And then it goes to the Cyber-bully thing. Well to tell the truth, I really don't care about what other people say to me. I just don't. People have different perspectives and they have their own opinions and I don't want to care about it. I don't want to change the way about how they feel about me because of what I said. And as I said, I'm me and I am just being myself. They can say whatever they want and like to say, they can misunderstand me, but I don't really care. Because I know that it only shows me the fact that they are ignorance and most importantly, "They don't even know me", so why should I care about this and even get upset about it? I just don't see where's the point.

And to tell the truth, I'm quite a optimistic person, and maybe this can also be the reason why I don't care about this that much.

As for your last question. Yeah I think that I can. But not very often. Because when people change the way how they dress up or like girls change their make up, it could be a problem to me to recognize them.

Anyways those are just my thoughts and I wish you have a good day. And I really think that you shouldn't get upset about this thing because it is really pointless, cause you're what you're. You are whom you are.

  8. Last question first.  Some people I can recognize in real life by their photo and some not.  It all depends with me.  I have a few friends who always take a horrible picture.  We can't figure out why.

No, you can't expect to post a real, un-photoshopped pic without being criticized by people, whether or not they put up their own site or picture.  The internet puts you out there for anyone to look and for anyone to comment.  If you can't take the comments, don't read any of them or just delete the crazier ones.

Be very careful what you post on line.  Prospective employers are not doing searches to find out how people presented themselves on line.  If it is too embarrassing or compromising, it could cost you a job.

One thing many models say is that they were made fun of all the time in school because they were so tall or different looking.  They didn't ask for those critiques, either.  People just feel free to comment.

This is why none of us should gossip or make nasty comments to and about other people.  It hurts.
