  1. No, only a fraction survives. Plants generally make many seeds to spread them around as much as possible so that at least a few will land in favourable conditions. Most seeds will be eaten by birds and animals or will simply land in places where the plant could not grow.


  2. Poppy seed capsules tend to contain something like 3,000 seeds.  If all of those survived until maturity, and all of their descendants survived as well, after six years there'd be approximately 2,100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 seeds taking up about 700,000,000,000,000,000,000cm³ of space.  You would then be able to cover 7,000 continents the size of Europe to depth of 70cm.

    Conclusion: I wouldn't expect wll progeny would reach maturity.
